There are leagues in Europe, semi-pro per say, that do not jeopardize NCAA eligibility. My guess is he has found a place to play and stay hockey active.

Yes, the big-time colleges played football last fall. And a lot of Division I schools are playing hockey this winter. Yes, we're frustrated that RPI isn't among the latter.

But in regard to spring sports such as lacrosse, the wait-and-see attitude seems to be prevalent at the present time.

RPIathletics shows that last year RPI played its first lacrosse game on February 16. If we were planning to start spring sports anywhere near as early this year, I would have expected a 2021 schedule to be posted by now. It would be nice if somebody would say "RPI will set up its spring sports schedule when we hear that thus-and-such has happened," but nobody's said it yet

However, I look at the athletics websites of big-time lacrosse programs such as Johns Hopkins, UAlbany, Princeton, and Penn, and none of them shows a 2021 schedule as yet, either. Looks like everybody's waiting for something. And if anybody's said exactly what they're waiting to hear, it hasn't come to my attention.

Th question is, as it has been, are those teams practicing ? if they are planning to play this month, they'd already be practicing. I suspect RPI has not .....given the hard stop that the regime has placed on all matters involving human interactions.

The American Hockey League is planning to go with five divisions this year, with as few as three and as many as seven teams in any one division. The Hershey Bears are in the North Division, which includes seven teams - but the Bears' schedule calls for them to play all of their games against only three of those teams: Binghamton, Lehigh Valley, and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

If RPI plays any spring sports, the schedule may be limited to teams like Union, Skidmore, Vassar, and maybe Williams - schools close enough to allow the visiting team to travel back and forth and play the game all in the same day.
