I am assuming that Neutral Zone regards their Star ratings as public because they often tweet them with committals.

The Northeast Generals currently list 22 protected players. Eric Fawkes is not included. They are allowed a few more. https://portal.usahockey.com/tool/pu...rs/nahl#team21

Edit: There are now 25 players listed, and still no Fawkes. The NJ Titans list 27, so he still could make the protected list.

That is certainly not a good sign. I'll wait to see what league he ends up in before I pass judgement. But if he didn't make it out of training camp onto their roster and ends up back in the MJHL (again), I think it'll be time to admit the reality that he is not a D1 caliber player.

Interestingly, none of the three players that the Generals drafted in the Supplemental draft are on that list. https://generals.nahlleague.hockeyte...lemental-draft That draft was held early and I would have expected the better players to be taken. One is in the NCDC according to Elite Prospects.
