From the results of the WJC Summer Showcase, I would guess that, at a minimum, 3 Spartans may be representing their countries this December. Rare and perhaps refreshing as an MSU fan to see that. It was 3 coaches ago when MSU sent 4.

That said, this is already the most talent on any MSU team since, what, 2008?

I'm thinking 20 wins with a first-round playoff series at Munn and a tournament appearance.
I usually think about how many stacked Michigan teams full of NHL underclassmen we watch look dead in the water around the holidays only to turn into a force by March. I am hoping we at least follow a similar trajectory but popping right off the bat would obviously be great. All of this talent will at least be fresh and fun to watch from the start.

Thanks! I can (practically) vouch that USCHO's user control was either non-operational or unpersoned for quite some time. It seems operational and personed again . Sucked having an account linked to an email address I no longer have.

It's website official now. 15 newcomers next season.

Edit: And here's the whole darn roster.

Do you know what wasn't on my MSU hockey bingo card? Adam Nightingale being really good at recruiting kids from central and eastern Europe. (Pretty sure he has a commitment from a Ukranian kid, too.)

Per Nathaniel Bott on Twitter, "Defenseman Artyom Levshunov, ranked as high as third overall on 2024 NHL Draft boards, is on campus and will suit up for the Spartans this upcoming season. 13 goals and 29 assists with Green Bay in the USHL last year."

Nice late addition for the coaching staff. Should be a fun year.

Brad Fast got promoted. Now that third assistant coaches are a thing in the NCAA, he's our third.

Tech is actively looking for a 4th team that's not from a league already represented. Look for Fairbanks to be one of the future adds as the 4th.
