I've come to the conclusion that they need a fresh start, meaning someone else needs to come in and start anew. That person should be free to bring in whoever he thinks will help him achieve his goals.
In choosing the right guy I hope Coyle and his people dig real deep to make sure they hire the best possible candidate. They need to do a very thorough review, checking many different references not supplied by the candidate(s), including former players and coaches who know the man well and can vouch for his knowledge, leadership ability and integrity.
