Re: UVM 2017/18: A Gutt Check
Honestly, I didn't notice the pinches so much (and in general, I'm okay with taking a chance on a pinch every now and again), but what I did notice, and it's been a continual problem this whole season, is having a guy just blow by a defenseman on the outside and heading straight to the net. It happened at least 3 times last night.
Despite the above, good win by the Cats with some puck luck on the OT winner by Colton. Makes up for the Lowell goal in OT last weekend.
Agree with whoever said Espo's been a pleasant surprise (I mean, he's got almost as many points as Colton). I was really thinking Misley was going to be the star of the frosh class. He's been rather underwhelming, but will hopefully progress (despite Sneddon -- think Connor Brickley) into the player I thought he was going to be.

Re: UVM 2017/18: A Gutt Check
I'm happy to see the guys start to string some wins together. Watching on TV this weekend it was clear to me that they are still playing hard, which is a credit to each and every player going over the boards given the way this season has gone. So despite all the troubles this year, I salute the players for playing with heart and pride.
I will add, though, that this does not change my opinion of the coaching staff and administration. Let's please not pretend that the team making a late push for a .400 season changes the long term, systemic issues at play here. We still need facilities. We still need a coaching staff that can bring us to a more consistent level of success.
Go Cats.

Brian Bowen is doing well with the Railers: " Brian Bowen would extend that lead with his third goal in three games with a setup from Frankie DiChiara on an open net."

Healthy scratch last game to give him rest: https://thisweekinworcester.com/rail...in-everblades/Last edited by j24vt; 01-29-2018, 07:17 PM.

Re: UVM 2017/18: A Gutt Check
This is going to be a tough weekend. We're going to have to rely on the counter IMO as PC is very good at controlling possession (4th best CF% in the nation). I think speed is a strength of this forward group, which is good when you're countering, but we'll see.https://twitter.com/TheVTHockeyBlog

Re: UVM 2017/18: A Gutt Check
Game played out as i figured. PC dominant in possession, UVM goals come from counters.
Wouldve taken a 2-2 tie pregame but the blown lead stings. Not sure where the ref got the penalty on the GTG fromhttps://twitter.com/TheVTHockeyBlog
