If every school in the country sent one fan representative to Agganis for a non-BC hockey game just once (pick one game, it doesn't matter which) the entire country would see just how fraudulent that ZOMGSUPERAWESOME fan base is.

    That would be nice.

And just because that was the best game of the year up to that point choog, we can't have possibly played any better in the past few months? Although, SteveF being a BC fan he's seen us play better than we've been playing in any other games. Any Beanpot game should be enough to get the local players going, I'm sure Ross Gaudet will mysteriously have a double hat trick against NU.

Re: The 2010 Beanpot: Featuring One Team Under Consideration

2003. Double OT loss. BC #2 seed. BU #5 seed. ABORTION!

2004. BC lost 2 of 3 to BU. BC #1 seed. BU #8 seed. DEPLORABLE!!!!!!

2006. BC loses in HE Final but beats them in the NCAAs. Who was better? I still say BC. No one will convince me otherwise, the cream rises to the top in the end. BUT, not really irrelevant, the teams split these games and one was better than the other for both games now that we can look back on it so neither Jerry nor Jack gains anything here depending on how you flip this.

2007. BC #2 seed pounds #3 seed. As they should have.

2009. Clearly BC lost to a better BU team.

So. Depending on how you look at the 2006 matchup of who the better team was (the other years are easy to figure out)...

          Jerry as the favorite: 3-4
          Jerry as the underdog: 0-1

          Jack as the favorite: 1-0
          Jack as the underdog: 4-3

That's pretty freakin ridiculous. Jerry grabs his ankles for Jack. Do you want to include say... Beanpot games? It would be uglier.

Because some(not all) BU kids wish they could have gotten into BC and now they have an extreme inferiority complex. How else can you explain them chanting "BC sucks" when they score against Merrimack?

As for the Beanpot, BC wins easily while BU beats NU by a goal on a late 3rd period Mike Hewkin defensive mistake. BC beats BU in the final, while all BU fans pretend that the Fenway game was more important to them than the Beanpot.

Then I could maybe see saying something about BC's 'major revenue sports.'

                  Buuut....no.
                  You are right, they should.

What is really maddening is that they actually do dominate that conference in all the sports as a whole. BU has won the best overall school something like the last 7 out of the last 8 years. However, they have had more trouble in the one sport that gets national attention.

It brings up the question of nature vs. nurture. Are fanboys born or are they made through their environment?

2 Hockey East points, in a once in a lifetime event, shouldn't it be more important?

And yes, I'm just saying this in the event we lose the Beanpot.

You know, if we here at BU were inclined to be jealous of another school's b-ball and football programs in the area, I'm thinking we'd choose the superior athletic program at UConn over Boston College.

Even you guys could get into UConn. So that would work out for you.

You're jealous of BC because you couldn't get in. You wouldn't be jealous of a school that you got accepted to and chose not to attend.

                              Nick,

It can be broken down many ways. I don't think the Beanpot is the be all end all that some do. I agree that BC should have won some more of these matchups over the years, I just don't see the extreme you do and certainly don't think the Beanpot should be used as any measure.

Here we are just hours after this thread was started and my FANBOY BINGO card is almost a winner.

All I need to get a bingo is one of the following:
                                A) "BC isn't in BOSTON. DURRRRRRRRRRR!"
                                or
                                B) "Our football team hasn't lost in over a decade! *pavlov rings bell* AAAAAAAAAAHH BC SUCKS BC SUCKS BC SUCKS BC SUCKS BC SUCKS BC SUCKS BC SUCKS BC SUCKS BC SUCKS BC SUCKS BC SUCKS. OK I'm all better now for a few minutes."
