    All in all I agree, it's better for league standings. That is the traditionalist in me. I kinda like the shootout though as it provides closure for the game. I never really liked the shootout granting an entire point but like I said it provided closure. I am glad that it's gone though. Now we just need to get down to 4x4 and eventual 3x3 OT periods. I don't see that ever happening though.

    So Hughes was drafted 7th by Vancouver. Now we will see.

    He was going, regardless (too many goalies). Sad, but something we've heard from a few people. And I don't expect it to be the last one, nor will we avoid losing some of the incoming players- Bodie Wilde is not likely to come.

    Anyway, good that LaFontaine has a place to play.

    It's not major junior. He can take a year off and still meet the 5 year window.
