That community is already in the process of dissolution where each man begins to eye his neighbor as a possible enemy, where non-conformity with the accepted creed, political as well as religious, is a mark of disaffection; where denunciation, without specification or backing, takes the place of evidence; where orthodoxy chokes freedom of dissent; where faith in the eventual supremacy of reason has become so timid that we dare not enter our convictions in the open lists, to win or lose.

Donovan made it official Wednesday by giving his verbal commitment to head coach Brad Berry, choosing UND over offers from his hometown team, Minnesota Duluth, as well as Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio State, Omaha, RPI, Cornell, Western Michigan and Michigan Tech.

I agree. Nashville is a cool town and I would be up for going there again if UND happens to play there. Love their downtown scene and I'm not a big country western guy although there is different music in other bars.

I wish I had both the time and the inclination to track over the years the success, or lack of success, in recruiting 15 year old kids.

I think this is great news. The guy that saved the national championship comes back as goalie coach.

I don't have that answer but as food for thought the problem is so many programs and kids are dipping into that well these days. The question then becomes is a top end program like UND better or worse off by drawing a line in the sand on the age of the kid they offer higher than a lot of programs are willing to match. If such a program might miss out more in that regard you're possibly left with no choice. Fortunately for a program with UND's history of success they're probably a net benefactor in offering kids that young just as they are in most of the kids they recruit.

I'd like to see the NCAA issue an age limit on offers myself but my guess is most of the smaller programs would push hard against such a rule.
