I saw the UAH schedule and (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻) a few times. Five consecutive home weekends during BAMA season, then nine weeks away from home.

Maximum number of non-conference games (against non-WCHA opponents) is 62, 58 of those are certain.

22 non-conference home games total (as quoted in WCHA release), 27 not at neutral sites. That seems to be a much better percentage than last season.

A full breakdown of nonconference opponents and tournaments, by institution:
Alabama Huntsville – at Notre Dame, vs. Arizona State
Alaska Anchorage – vs. North Dakota, at Colorado College
Alaska – vs. Air Force, at St. Cloud State
Bemidji State – vs./at Minnesota Duluth, vs. Air Force, at Princeton, vs./at North Dakota
Bowling Green – at/vs. Western Michigan, vs./at Michigan State, vs. Miami, Great Lakes Invitational (Michigan, Michigan State and Michigan Tech)
Ferris State – at/vs. Western Michigan, at Mercyhurst, at Michigan, at/vs. Michigan State

Minnesota State – vs./at St. Cloud State, at Boston University, at/vs. Minnesota Duluth
Northern Michigan – vs. Wisconsin (in Green Bay), at Omaha, Ice Vegas Invitational (Arizona State, Boston College and Michigan Tech)

Additionally, a pair of WCHA rivalry groups will play a nonconference home-and-home series: Alaska Anchorage vs. Alaska (Oct. 20-21) and Lake Superior State vs. Northern Michigan (Oct. 6-7).
    Ouch.

The season ends on the last weekend in February.

I saw on Twitter a couple of them were planning to borrow their daddy's Bimmer for that series and come up to Tech and get their MRS degree.

Sorry, but there's an academic requirement.

Per an email just received from the conference office, the WCHA will release the composite conference schedule on Thursday 4 May at 2pm EDT.

Well we have a decent alumni base up in the Denver area and I flew up last year for about $225 roundtrip. So yes, it is an easy trip from the Valley. We will be well represented at both weekends.

I'm also guessing if we don't hear anything about ASU before the 17-18 WCHA schedule is released they are going to be without a conference home for at least another season if not two. If they are not in a conference for the 2018-19 season, anyone who cares about ASU D-I hockey better start hitting the panic button. The life of an independent D-I team is finite and they are already having trouble filling the second half of their seasons with legit games.
