Re: Bemidji State Beavers: Defending the MacNaughton 2017-18

Giving up 13 goals on the weekend is not going to have the coaching staff in a good mood for this bye week. I know the Beavers were missing Zach Whitecloud, but still. Hopefully the D can figure it out by the time they get to Princeton.

After watching Mankato, I think they found their number one goalie and this league is theirs if they keep playing like that.

Re: Bemidji State Beavers: Defending the MacNaughton 2017-18

Watching the WCHA.tv feed of the Mankato games from Bemidji, did anyone else get nauseous from the camera work? It seemed like one every pass, the camera felt it had to move. And it had to at times because it was zoomed in to close. But there were times there were short, tick-tack passes and the camera person felt the need to move the camera when the players and the puck were still in the picture.

Re: Bemidji State Beavers: Defending the MacNaughton 2017-18

So, had this idea in my head, wonder if anyone else has thought about it and if it would fly. How about a WCHA/AHA Challenge Invitational between the old CHA teams? BSU, UAH, Bobby Mo and Niagara in a set schedule (ie, not bracketed). BSU vs Bobby Mo and UAH vs Niagara on day one and then BSU vs Niagara and UAH vs Bobby Mo on day two, as an example (the host school would always play the evening game both nights to help with the gate). That way, intraconference matchups are avoided. Set up a four year rotation for hosting between the schools. Could even break out one of the old tropheys to hand out to the winner. Tie breakers would have to be set up since it isn't a bracket tournament. But hey, it could be fun!

Tommy and Derek would have zero incentive for that.

Tom Serratore has talked about it over the years...just hard to justify with as many bus ride non-conference trips Bemidji has on the schedule now.

Great weekend from the Beavs. About time. I believe that is a much better reflection of how good this team is than what they have shown for most of the year. It’s too bad we left so many points on the board the previous 4 games. Hopefully we can get on a post Christmas break streak like we did 2 years ago. Still plenty of time left to host for playoffs and/or contend for the macnaughton especially with at least two games played less than everyone on front of us

                          Congrats on getting Driscoll.
He'll take over nicely for Bitzer.

That is a nice get. That gives BSU three goalies for next year and competition makes everyone better. I am assuming he will be coming in with three years left to play. Jack Burgart is a sophomore this year, but didn't play his freshman season, so I am not sure if a redshirt got used or not. Henry Johnson is a freshman this year.
