Thats a plus to add a goal scorer, this past season will open some eyes that this Program can move forward....recruiting trail for Maine hopefully finds some diamonds in the rough.

She won Herb Brooks Award for best tournament player in her division. And her team from Minnesota won the nationals where she was the leading scorer for the tournament.

Anyways, back to men's hockey... I see Tim Lovell Jr. Is considered one of the top rated uncommitted players in New England for his age group...

Why do you think Dawe gets no love from the NHL?

Thiessen at #4 North American goalie is remarkable. Swayman was 12th rated goalie in North America for their final rankings last season and went halfway in the 4th. Last year's 4th rated NA goalie went very early in the third. If that were to happen I wonder if this means Thiessen would come to Maine next season?

                    Probably a size thing.

I don't understand why Schmidt-Svestrup doesn't rate better given his size, physical play, and pro type shot.

I would guess he does a year in the USHL then shows up. It will be interesting to see how Red juggles Swayman, Thiessen, and the kid who just committed.

The kid just committed won't play until 20/21. Imagine Swayman is either left early that season or we are lucky in that he plays senior season. Plus, as you mentioned about Thiessen, Langford might play a year of juniors after he graduates.

Now that I read some old articles and combine it with his age it seems likely Thiessen can only come in 19/20 at the earliest. So that lines up well as McGovern would graduate at the end of next season.

Thiessen isn't looking too far past this year but knowing he'll be going to Maine either for the 2019/20 season or the 2020/21 season, he's fine either way and would enjoy staying in Steinbach for as long as he can. "It's not set in stone, it's kind of wait and see what the program wants for me. I'd be pumped to stay here into my 20-year-old season."

I’m not sure Swayman staying his senior year would be a good thing and he might be on a plan to graduate in three years. I wonder if he tries to sign next summer and Langford comes in a year early. He is a 2001 so would think he would be eligible.

Svejstrup went from 157 to 205. Same thing happened to Binner last year. Silver lining may be that these kids stay for 4 years rather than leave early. I still think Maine needs to have a couple of the one and done type in the mix, along with the diamond in the rough guys like Keeper and Tralmaks.

I would think that Swayman stays around for 3 seasons and leaves after his Junior season.

Too small, I bet. He could be a guy if he shows well in college that signs as an undrafted free agent and puts together either a solid but non-spectacular career spanning several years, or a guy who has a great season or two then flames out.
