Drove down from NY City as a neutral observer and enjoyed the game. Excellent OT winner by No. 11, nifty stickhandling and then a textbook backhander low into the far corner.
That's terrible luck right there for them to score with one second left and lose in ot. DV will need to get these boys focused and ready for today's game, can still win this but **** it would have been nice to just finish that last night. I thought he might have played Point last night so if it went to game 3 he would have a fresh goalie. I hope Finn can have 3 great games in a row. Once again we were the only team to win at least one game on the road in the first weekend....now let's win 2!
DV teams will always show up and compete...that's really never been an issue (the issue in my humble opinion has been recruiting) so it's really tough seeing what happened last night. The problem was going in a really really tight defensive shell in the last four minutes or so where P-ton outshot us 13 to ZERO. I thought we played pretty well in ot, certainly having good chances. I just don't think, having given a decently-talented team like P-ton a second chance, that we will win tonight.
The momentum is with the Tigers, but with a healthy dose of psychology from DV 'Gate can come back and win this thing. To think 1 second could separate us from going to the quarterfinals is unthinkable. We just need to put this behind us as a fluky win for P'ton and come out firing on all cylinders to win the series. P'ton will be fired up; we need to take the crowd out of it and force the play early to take it to 'em. It's all in the mind - just turn off game 2 and concentrate on getting it done. Good luck guys - bring it home.
