It should be stated that the Top Prospect Award is an automatic award, not voted upon. "The OJHL Top Prospect Award is awarded annually to the player selected by NHL Central Scouting as the top-ranked draft eligible prospect for the upcoming NHL Draft". By the time that the award is announced, they must use the mid-year ranking.

I wonder if that explains the mid-year addition of Polino. If they originally viewed Burgess as a right wing, perhaps his success at center caused them to rethink the line chart for next season.

I tend to doubt that they think of forward positions that much. It probably was more the giving up on Fornaris. Then again, you could be correct.

IMO offensively RPI looks to be over coached. There is no spontaneity and is very predictable. They also struggle to make and receive a cross ice pass to the opposite winger.They did improve in getting the puck out of there own end quicker this past year.

My point was that we shouldn't count on Burgess being a great offensive star from the get go.
