After Friday's game, I laid the blame for the loss on Madore.

Talk about responding to a tough outing a positive way. On Saturday night, he was tested a few times, but nothing out of this world.

last night, several times i thought the game was over, and Madore stuck out his pad, or made the bid glove save. He was outstanding.

Now, on to the Garden. I think to guarantee themselves a shot at the big ice dance, they need to knock off BC at 5 pm on Friday.

I will be there (been to 7 of the last 9 games this season) and no reason to not be there.

Anyone else going to be there?

UNH actually has a decent shot to be a 3 seed in the NCAA's, a lot would have to go wrong to knock them completely out (though its not improbable).

        Pairwise predictor is up,

        http://www.uscho.com/rankings/pwp.php

UVM does not need to beat BC to get in, but in that case they would need a bit of help. They beat BC and everything falls into place and they are in.

BC is scary. They are super talented and have played great throughout the year. That said UVM did win the season series so its not unreasonable to think UVM can go to the Garden and win.

Especially if Madore plays the way he did the past two games. Just unbelievable. UNH has a great team and they will make the NCAA's, RS champs, have owned UVM forever and UVM went and shutout UNH 2 games in a row at home.......never been done. This UVM team can play with anyone in the country.....when they show up.

The UML weekend was a bit of a stinker, but overall UVM has played well for the most part lately. I think BC has to be the favorite especially in the post season, but here's hoping York and the BC boys take the game for granted.

Nice call on the VT in 3......

Amazing comeback by Madore and some great OT saves. Incredible to hold UNH to no goals in 7 periods of Hockey. I feel bad for the Fish Guy!! VT deserved that win and I felt outplayed UNH 90% of that game last night winning puck battles and being the first to the puck all night. Was surprised they came away from the second empty handed. UNH's only offense seemed to be the counter attack as they rarely got setup in the O zone. Onto the Garden!!!

            Found some video highlights -

Go to article and scroll down to the scoreboard and hit play.

Some of the Biggest saves are at the 2 min mark of the tape.

Medvec gets away with one at 3:02 of the tape.

Yeah he did. Not the reason UNH lost last night, but the calls that Shea decided to make last night were pathetic considering what was let go (that might have been the worst of it, clear HFB) Though the way UNH's 'power' play was operating, I wish they could decline the penalties anyway Must have hit his head when he kept falling on his a $ $ in the first period (2x in one shift)

Anyone know if there's a photo gallery anywhere from last nights game?

BFP had a good gallery of my photos from the first two games, not sure why they haven't added the AP photos I uploaded last night...

Congrats Cat's on winning the series, good luck this weekend!

Cant be worse than the hit Irwin took right in front of the goal on that play at the end of regulation that they reviewed. You see it on this highlight when he was on his knees and he gets crosschecked from behind.

Just checked out those highlights, Madore was a freak. That Desimone save was as good as it gets. Anctil and that line deserved that goal after the weekend they had, every shift they played keep away down below the unh goaline and a bunch of opportunities came from it including Anctil's game one backhand wrap around goal. Roos, Leonard, and Anctil are all quick and squirmish along the boards so it was fun to watch them dominate their shifts this weekend.

Here comes the will Stacey be ready this weekend question. No idea, seems to be moving about quite well but who would you take out of the lineup if he were ready. All twelve forwards played spot-on this weekend..maybe Downing but don't want to be too harsh. The defense collectively were great too at both ends and in the neutral zone. Everyone was on the same page at unh for the most part.

Haven't looked hard enough yet at the Uvm-Bc matchup but I know those smaller forwards will be a handful and I'm quite certain uvm is going to want to stay out of the box. This game needs to be played and won 5 on 5 to go uvm's way where they can do what they did this past weekend, control the puck deep in the O-zone to create chances and constantly having the third forward high roll to the defensemans spot as he aggressively pinches.

I asked a friend who is on the team if he thought Stacey was gonna be back and he said he didn't think so, so I wouldn't count on him playing.

Yes, madore was fantastic. He made some game savers. The type that I complained about him not making for much of the season. Not sure if he saved them up or what, but he certainly had them at the most important game of the season, thus far. I hope he has a bunch more on the shelf for the next few weekends.....

The D also just played great except for a few minutes in the OT when UNH had those great chances. I thought the game was over numerous times only to have Madore make the save or have UNH dribble it wide.

UNH fans may complain about the trap but if it helps you generate 41 shots in regulation and 51 in 76 minutes of game time then so be it. I thought that was a very exciting game, UVM had plenty of chances and Foster played huge.

Burrows made a nasty move in OT that I was sure was going to end it but somehow Foster stuffed him all alone in front.

Most of the UVM players had great games - nobody to call out for a poor performance - but I will say that Roloff and Stalberg in particular looked strong all game. Stalberg has just been fantastic down the stretch - looking so much stronger and faster than he did in the first half.

The one thing I still don't understand is - where was this effort and execution the prior weekend in Lowell? I don't understand it - but when they decide to bring it - they can play with anyone.

BC will be TOUGH but it's nice to have the opportunity - if the Cats bring the same effort and execution on Friday that they did the last two nights I like their chances to make it a game. That's a big if though of course. BC won't look past them.

Go Cats. Congratulations. Rest up and BRING IT on Friday.

I've been playing with the PWR predictor and there are way way too many outcomes. UVM can beat BC and still get knocked out if BU wins it all. UVM can lose to BC and still get in....nothing to do but sit and wait.
