Can we get back to hockey please? Nanooks have not won in their last 7 games. Let's keep it that way!

    From ADN:

"According to NCAA, the (UAF) hockey team used ineligible players in every game played from the 2007-08 season to the 2010-11 season. Over that span, the wins and ties will all become losses. 4 wins and 2 ties came against rival UAA".

    UAF is 56-86-12 vs. UAA.

No wonder this rivalry doesn't sell out anymore, we're talking about Magic the ****ing Gathering.

To be honest, I can't say very much about this rivalry since we haven't won the Governor's Cup in so long. I mean, I could complain about shootouts but that's pretty useless. I could use Donald's path of the overall record but then all the UAF fans need to do is point at the Governor's Cups they've fun.

Basically, we need to *ing win.

UAF made the kind of hockey history on October 10th 2015 that no team wants to claim – the Nanooks became the first NCAA Division I victim of Arizona State.

Anchorage should win both of these. They're playing better hockey at the moment and we historically stink at Sullivan, last year excepted.

That said...both these teams are stacked with underclassmen (18 for UAA, 16 for UAF) so it should be fun to see how all the new guys react.

David vs. Goliath II, could outsell this weekend
Just to be clear. My disinterest in this team became of the Uni's disinterest. Without the success of the hockey team, the other teams would not be where they are. Way to pay back the hockey team. **** UAA.

Good God almighty. Is this really who hands this thing over to the winners?

For the record, the shimmering blue Governor's Cup trophy is shown below...
...and please forgive UAA fans if they do not even recognize what the Cup looks like or who actually presents the Cup to the winners. It's not their fault.

I was sorta counting the minutes until a "You betcha" response to my post.

The "Is that Russia in the background?" comment is hilarious.

Would have been mildly more funny if you weren't off by two prior Governors. C for effort, F for execution.

Is this just before they removed 3 blue plates with a "cheater bar" ?

Hoping for a redesign soon, too much wood, the actual cup looks like an afterthought, etc.
