I've had just about enough of video replays of Brown goals at RPI.

That said, if we play as well as we did in the first and third periods (the second was abysmal), we could very well win this series.

Just got back from the game. Your comments are right on the money. Don't understand what happened to team in second period.

Thanks! After seeing that, I totally agree with what the radio guys were saying. There's no chance the puck didn't go in, but you can't tell conclusively on the replay, so it's impossible to overturn the call on the ice.

Looked like Kasdorf dragged the puck back from inside the net with the top of his skate. Trouble is you can't clearly see the puck from up top and that's probably the view they used to determine 'no goal'. Too bad because it looked good from ice level.

Yep. It's too bad the ref wasn't in position to see it on the ice, because he likely would've called it a goal and they wouldn't have had to review. Oh well. On to Game 2!

I just noted this: All-Ivy Selections Lappin & Gottlieb 1st Team and Naclerio 2d Team

Sam Lafferty has had two breakaway chances in which he beat Kasdorf with nifty moves, but hit the post. Frustrating, to say the least. This game could have been put away by now.

...and now we catch Kasdorf out of his net on a penalty kill with the puck sitting in front of the wide open net. Bird couldn't get a stick on it. Ugh!

Another season mercifully comes to a close! On to next year.

Naclerio and Lappin will be sorely missed next year, but I was very encouraged by the play of Lafferty, Willman, Bird, Brink and Corcoran (in that order) over the past month or so, and especially this weekend. Coupled with the season-long success of Marchin and Gottlieb, the underclassmen look impressive. If the freshman goalie can hold his own and the young defensive corps can continue to improve, the team could be better next year.

On a more sour note, I'm beginning to wonder when I'll be able to stop saying "well, at least next year can't be any worse" at the end of each season. A five-win season is simply unacceptable, no matter how many close calls (of which there were MANY) we had. Too many blown leads, soft goals and mental mistakes that lead directly to opportunities for our opponents.

                        See you all in November.

You guys got hosed again; should have had a major on that Grant hit.

That was the least of the bad calls, the first night Willman's goal was good, last night the second goal by RPI looked offsides. But they couldn't get the replay back that far. The No goal call was a joke, there had been that type on incidental contact all night. Then the terrible Grant call. Don't know what it is about RPI, but Brown got hosed on both games. ECAC officiating was embarrassing.

Divver reports that 8-10 NHL teams have been in contact with Nick Lappin.

                                https://twitter.com/MarkDivver/statu...34714507137024

Well-deserved for Nick, who's averaged over a point per game in two of his four seasons at Brown and often was the best player on the ice for either team playing this season. This includes the second leg of the Mayor's Cup, which is extremely impressive considering the talent PC has assembled during the Leaman era.

I would expect Naclerio to receive some attention (albeit not quite as much) from NHL teams, as well. It also wouldn't surprise me to see Pfeil picked up by a lower level team - probably someone in the ECHL.

At this rate, the likeliest landing spot for Naclerio and Lappin would seem to be New Jersey, which already boasts three Brown alumni (Farnham, Danis, Lorito) in its system. Maybe they can reunite the Lorito-Naclerio-Lappin line in Albany!
