I just hope he does end up going first and not a Canadian because HFBoards is already insufferable.

It was great hanging there in the 2007 timeframe as we were bringing in Kessel, EJ, Okposo, etc, etc. Unfortunately, those salad days didn't last too long. I always enjoy the discussion on whether CHL or NCAA is more high powered hockey. That's a pretty easy debate.

Smart money says Canada, but he still mentions UND, UMi, BU, BC and Denver as considerations. (all with as many or more NC's as MN....)

Wonder if playing in pathetic conference and rumored coaching squabbles is having effect on recruiting. (Although MI is supposedly still mentioned by Mathews.)
Recruiting has generally been as strong as you'd expect. We just beat out UND for Jaxon Nelson and he's one of the top guys in his age group in the U.S.

Some people (not saying you) seem to act like it is something new if we miss on a few guys when the reality is whether things are going great or not, we've never hit on 100% of the guys we target. Still hit the target on most of them though.

Too many fans lose sight of that. These same fans probably felt the sky was falling when Parise chose UND if they're old enough to remember.

Remember when MN was being criticized for recruiting one-and-dones? Just saying.

The "balance" of superstars and workhorses is the key, and kudos to any coach who can find that formula.
