It was a novelty for a couple of years, but the time has come to let it go. Not only is it often crappy ice for the players, it's ALWAYS poor sight lines for the fans, and can be miserable conditions weather-wise for both (like the Gopher-OSU game last year at TCF Bank Stadium - not fun!).

Thank you. These games are an event. You go just to be a part of it and hang out in the cold with everyone, not to actually watch the game.

It was a novelty for a couple of years, but the time has come to let it go. Not only is it often crappy ice for the players, it's ALWAYS poor sight lines for the fans, and can be miserable conditions weather-wise for both (like the Gopher-OSU game last year at TCF Bank Stadium - not fun!).

And let's just hope that the Gophers aren't brought in to the Stadium Series that the Wild will be playing in next year - unless it's a complete exhibition game.
