What if they didn't come by bus? For example,Air Force parachutes in to earn sky diving merit badge. Or Army comes by Pattonesque tank invasion.

A football field is 160 feet wide? You only have to gain an additional 40 feet. That's 20' on each side. Doable.
Figure each rink is 100' wide to allow do benches and you have plenty of room in a modern football stadium.

One rink has a siren, one rink has a horn, and the third has a train whistle.

Or - horrors! You could use Lake Placid. They have 3 rinks there. 16 teams ought to swamp the entire hotel rooms in the town m

Helloooooo....pond hockey tourney. So the ice may be a little thin; all the more reason not to suck and have to play in the tourney in the first place.

Pond hockey would put a smile on the players' faces and would be enjoyable. Can't have that.

Not really much different, other than knowing why it crapped out.

It's not a bad place (well, Wayne State called it home, so it can't have been good), but the Great Lakes Sports City complex would get you over with quickly. They have five sheets, so the losers of the first two games to complete would go straight to their quarterfinal game on that fifth sheet.

As far as playing until the death goes, UAH would have an ... advantage ... after their losing performance against Tech last weekend.

That said, I'm all about Copper Harbor. The only problem is that US 41 does lead you right into town.

don't let that fool you. the last 250 miles are through woods. and with some luck the last 45 will be drifted shut. and no one else is on the road. in the dark even locals can't find their way.

one concern: fans and/or sports writers could boat to Copper Harbor. small boats might have problems maneuvering in the ice, but also could see a scenario where fans / sports writers hop freighters on the lower Great Lakes, somehow get off near Copper Harbor and walk ice floes into town. heck, whole teams could get there that way. it would save travel costs. that's bad for the tourney? but then again they might not know where to get off and could end up anywhere and miss the games. or fall through the ice. or there might not be any ice and they would have to go on to Duluth or Thunder Bay.

Well, Miami won and got into that other tournament, as did BU (another one of our OOC opponents), and Minnesota/Michigan played for the right to go to that other tournament. We may be out.

Just give it to Wisconsin. they have more National Championships than wins this year. that alone deserves a number one seed, and all byes.
