12 regular season games left and I don't see another loss on the schedule for the Huskies. SCSU sweep.

If that is true it will make my upcoming trip to St. Cloud for the UNO/SCSU series pretty tragic.

UNO swept Western Michigan, pretty handily, in Kalamazoo, by a composite score of 8-2 back in October, one of the games being a shutout. SCSU wants the ship headed back in the direction of the tourney, they need a sweep this weekend. Nothing less. That starts the road back. To say the Huskies end the season with 4 monster series in a row for them is an understatement. In a row, in this order, teams currently ranked in Pairwise at 5, 2, 4, & 12. You get above the cut line after that gauntlet and you guys will deservedly be back in the NCAA's.

To show what a back seat they apparently take to the Michigan Wolverines, take a look at who Ticketmaster has UNO playing the weekend of February 13th & 14th here in Omaha:

This would be a pretty good trick since Michigan is actually playing the Gophers in Mariucci Arena that weekend. Can you say, "False advertising"?

Will the real SCSU please stand up? Is it the one who swept Miami 2 weeks ago with seldom used back up goalie or is it the one who got swept last weekend by DU?

O.K., without going into great detail about what you said that got you banned, can you kind of paraphrase what you said and about whom?

I mean, most writers are pretty thick-skinned and expect some criticism. You said something that literally got you tossed? Given some things I have read posted here by people that have been around this forum a lot longer than I, whatever you said had to be pretty much off-the-charts, I would guess.

I made a comment on an article about a particular writer's lack of "hockey" knowledge and suggested she start writing articles about teams/games she actually watched. This criticism was not well received by the Art History Major whose background/experience is actually more in blogging about the Rocky Mountain High

The thin skinned writer immediately responded to my post with a personal attack of me, as she attempted to show her journalistic intellectual superiority by ridiculing what she thought was grammatical error in my screen name.

I was banned for either further embarrassing this writer when I asked if she knew what a homonym was (hence the correct spelling in my old screen name) or a spelling error on my part as the last two letters of her first name did not actually end in "ss"

I thought about complaining to the editor about this writer, but decided not to when I realized she was/is in fact one of the staff editors.

I guess the grammar police are real....

I know how to read. You implied that a SCSU fan or WMU fan should have posted before a UND or UMD fan by saying "before someone from WMU or an SCSU fan other than the original poster responds."

But it is important that you tell people that you hate your team's fanbase, that way they know you aren't like all those other SCSU fans. Maybe you should put that in your signature, as a sort of disclaimer.

Interestingly, the other person on this board that claims to hate/be embarrassed by SCSU fans publicly made an *** of themself worse than any other SCSU supporter I can remember. *okay had to edit this to mention that mikecgrimes actually was worse

Who was the SCSU fan and what did they say? This board has become lame over the years so I don't post here much any more. I come on here a couple times a week and read stuff, but most of the time it is not worth my time to post and fight with the same people over and over again...

I stated I hate this fan base bc I had just gotten done reading our series thread with Denver on scsuhockey. Bob sucks, our season is done, squabbling with a player's parent, the team has no heart and very little actual hockey insight. It gets old.

I am not gonna sit here and list the individuals who are the exceptions to the rule, cuz there are a ton, but I will say I know a ton of SCSU people who have been run off from posting by what they feel is a constant stream of unproductive whining and I was voicing my agreement with that sentiment. (Here is where I wish I was PA so I could have "All the negativity in this town SUCKS" cued up on a hot button)

But as you know Tipsy, if you don't like what I have to say about our fan base you can always just not read it.

As for this weekend: I wouldn't go as far as to call this a must win series; we split this weekend then sweep CC, UNO, and tUMD and I would take it happily but this is likely our best shot at a sweep the rest of the season. And if we get a sweep we could likely win a couple of one goal wins. We just need points in a hurry, if for no other reason than to keep the wolves at bay.

I'll be there on Friday but gotta work Saturday, looking forward to my first trip to Cloud since the Duluth series.

Who was the SCSU fan and what did they say? This board has become lame over the years so I don't post here much any more. I come on here a couple times a week and read stuff, but most of the time it is not worth my time to post and fight with the same people over and over again...

I am pretty sure it was Lady Wore Black, but not 100% sure. At the NCAA regional game vs Notre Dame last year, she was screaming at the SCSU pep band at the top of her lungs... and it was for the first 2 periods of the game, ANY TIME THE BAND PLAYED. And they were in the opposite corner of the arena in the upper deck, so there is no way they could possibly hear her. It wasn't even what she said, which was mostly just yelling 'you suck' and criticizing their song choices. It was the pointlessness of it, the rudeness of it and the lack of consideration for people sitting around her. I am not exaggerating when I say that about 50 people turned around to see who was screaming. The people directly behind us left to go sit in a different section because it was so annoying.

I was 99% sure that was why, and I agree with you. Saying people should call the AD about Motzko is ludicrous. I am sure a lot of Gopher and North Dakota fans feel the same way when their fans call for the head of Lucia or Hakstol. But that is a vocal minority of the fanbase. Those are the exceptions, not the other way around.

In an effort to get the discussion back on the WMU vs SCSU series, if either team puts any stock in home ice advantage in the conference tournament, this series is a must win, probably more so for WMU than SCSU, even though the Broncos have a 3 pt lead over the Huskies. Tie breaker could come into play, is it head to head? If so, I think the Broncos need a win and at least another shoot out victory in order to stay ahead of the Huskies

I agree, both teams need points fast if they have any chance of getting home ice going into the playoffs. That maybe more import for the Huskies with the big sheet, but this Bronco team reminds me of last years team, were they seem to play better on the road than at home, so home ice may not be preferred for WMU.

Come conference tournament time, I think you can throw out the seeding and home ice, as all bets are off as to who will end up in Minneapolis. Nothing would surprise me

It was one person who said that too. The players mom/dad that posted just went off and really it was more their fault then the person who ragged on the player.
