How do we keep this going?
By having the CHL continue to poach the best talent that would otherwise be going to the then WCHA now NCHC/Big Ten.

The ECAC run has coincided with the western powerhouses hemorrhaging recruits to the Canadian juniors. There's no systemic reason why that should stop, so the ECAC should stay in the mix for the forseeable future. For those of us who lived through the entire 25-year drought, that's wonderful news.

I think this is part of it. The other part is a willingness of some programs to pursue older freshman that are more mature and ready to contribute immediately. It's tough to compete with BU & BC for the phenoms.

The second half is going to be very entertaining, should be awesome. Harvard looks to be the favorite right now, but most teams have 14-16 league games remaining, it always changes. Q-Pac, Union, Colgate, Yale all will have something to say.
It all starts with the goaltending.

Looking into my crystal ball I see the following happening in the second half:

Moving up: SLU, Colgate, Union, Dartmouth, and Cornell. Moving down: Harvard, Yale, and RPI. Maintaining status quo: QU, Clarkson, Brown, Princeton.

Look for Cornell to make a major push to the upper reaches of the league during the second half. Their goaltending will carry them. Colgate should improve with T. Spink and D. Murphy back in action and some good playing by Panowyk (sp?) and the other frosh. Union is better than what they have shown so far. Dartmouth is a dark horse and will put on a run. SLU has the hot hand in goal and is an improving club, better than its present 5th place position.

Brown and Princeton will continue to be bottom feeders.

Harvard will come back to earth as it faces ECAC foes with a target on its back. Despite a gazillion NHL draft picks, this is still a team playing beyond expectations; my guess is that they wind up 4th. RPI will self destruct. Yale will come a cropper due to a sorry D and speculative goaltending.

That's the rundown from here. Do other folks agree?

I love Monty Python too much not to do this:
" Top-hole. Bally Jerry, pranged his kite right in the how's your father. Hairy blighter, dicky-birdied, feathered back on his Sammy, took a waspy, flipped over on his Betty Harper's and caught his can in the Bertie."

"I have come up with a plan so cunning you could stick a tail on it and call it a weasel. ."
            -Blackadder
"I'm shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on in here. "
            -Casablanca
"They could maybe hire another officer to catch the illegal immigrant drug dealers breast feeding at Dunkin' Donuts or whatever it is! Thank you!"

At the BU Game in Agganis our fans were so plentiful and so loud that the NBC announcers thought they were in Schenectady.

7:32 - 7:56 "Are we in Schenectady .. or ... where are we?"
This should put us in first place for now in best "Fan support for an away out of conference game by an ECAC team 2014-2015"
The Beanpot is coming so we may get knocked out of first place.

Clarkson and SLU did play a non-conference home/home, and I'm pretty sure they have you beat.

Sorry, no. Not even close. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZcPbbkiho8 Madison Square Garden November 29,2014. Attendance 15,027 at least 2/3 Cornell fans. Not strictly away, but still far from home.
