He is 100% right. Moore would be top 4 on that team and he was being subtly dissed going back to August. People looking for reasons to slam his game.

Herb Brooks wouldn't let John Moore near a USA training camp.

This is a kid who lied to Colorado College repeatedly and told them he was coming to school. An individual who took as long as humanly possible to make his decision to play in the OHL, and then bailed on CC at the 11th hour. Say what you will about John Moore, but his character is his biggest weakness.

Matt Donovan is twice the player Moore is defensively & his equal offensively. Donovan had better stats than Moore in the USHL in every single freakin' catagory last year. Moore's NHL stock is free falling while Donovan's goes up every day.

Opinions of players change significantly with time. If the 2005 NHL Draft were held today, Paul Stastny would go #3 instead of #44 in the 2nd Round. Clearly 29 NHL GMs were wrong about Stastny. Just because the last place Columbus Blue Jackets like John Moore, its hardly a ringing endorsement, based on their previous player personnel decisions.

Colorado College would have been ecstatic if he had come to school for just one year. In fact Scott Owens told him that.

“[Owens] has said all along, ‘If we can get you for even a year, we’d feel really lucky,’” said Moore. “From my standpoint, that’s all I can ask for.”

Finally, Moore's character has been called into question. When College Hockey Inc. visited Colorado College a couple of weeks ago, who do you think was Topic #1?

He was ranked as high as 12 and as low as 25 by every NHL team. The other kid was obviously ranked no better then late 4th round, which is fine. I doubt a single NHL gm would go back in time if given the choice.

Matt Donovan was drafted in 2008 after his Junior year in high school, Moore was drafted in 2009. Just like Stastny, Donovan would be drafted significantly higher if the draft were held today. Especially after beating out the #12 overall pick for a spot on the USA Junior Team.

USA lost to Czech Repuublic in a shootout last night. Last two cuts will be announced at 11 am ET. Zucker & D'Amigo did not dress last night.
