Re: Union College Hockey 2014-2015 "ReUnion 2015? Why "Nott"?
Maybe the best game I've seen U play this year. Almost a perfect road game - clamped down on D early and then took advantage of opportunities in the 2nd period to turn momentum. Did a really good job of standing up Cornell at the blueline and forcing them to dump it in, then kept things to the outside when the Red had the puck in the zone. Team defense was excellent, Stevens was very good when there were a couple breakdowns, and the top guns stepped up offensively. Very impressed with how the young D-men played, especially DeSimone & Light and very nice to see Taylor calmly bringing the puck up ice - his presence was huge as was Wilkins physical play. That was classic Union hockey and best example of it I've seen this season. Tonight of course will be twice as hard and am worried if the refs "let'em play" as they did at times last night. The Red are freaking huge, as usual, and will be very motivated. U will have to use their speed to hopefully wear them down a bit. This series is not over by a long shot.
