Obviously the big winner over the last few weeks has been SweeneyHawksHockey...putting up top-5 performances each week and claiming the top overall spot heading into the NCAA Tournament. Overall, our % has increased to 58.96%...probably won't be able to hit the 60% overall for the season, but still a pretty respectable number given the difficulty of games we pick from.

Also, we will be doing our own little tournament over the course of the NCAA Tournament. Similar to last year, the top 16 predictors will square off with their NCAA predictions. Each matchup will coincide with that round of the NCAA Tournament. So, if you predict against someone in the first round, the points you accumulate in the first round of the NCAA Tournament (plus applicable bonus) will be used to determine the winner. If you advance, the points you score in the Regional Finals of the NCAA Tournament (plus applicable bonus) will be used to determine the winner (i.e. points will not carry over for this particular tournament). With that being said, here are our brackets:

      1. SweeneyHawksHockey vs. 16. gochiefs
      8. FS23 vs. 9. Laker Dude

      2. Pump It Up vs. 15. 1988
      7. irishstate vs. 10. 97osu

      3. NU_Husky vs. 14. all bear
      6. FiveHole12 vs. 11. drshoen

      4. Siouxfaninseattle vs. 13. darker98
      5. Driftryder vs. 12. kpd52

Obviously, this is just one other facet of the Pick'em, so keep in mind that the Overall Standings Championship, Pick'em Percentage Standings Championship, and Total Bonus Championship will all still be up for grabs over the course of the NCAA Tournament.

The NCAA Tournament Regional Pick'em Will be up sometime this afternoon.

If anyone has any questions, please just let me know. Thanks, and Good Luck!

        NCAA TOURNAMENT PICK'EM!!

Deadline: Friday, March 27th, 2:00pm Eastern (drop of puck of first game). There will be absolutely ZERO exceptions for posting after the deadline, and your predictions will not count if not in by the deadline.

        Northeast Regional:
        (3) Boston University vs. Yale -
        Minnesota Duluth vs. Minnesota -

        Northeast Regional Champion -

        West Regional:
        (2) North Dakota vs. Quinnipiac -
Michigan Tech vs. St Cloud State -

        West Regional Champion -

        Midwest Regional:
        (1) Minnesota State vs. RIT -
        Nebraska Omaha vs. Harvard -

        Midwest Regional Champion -

        East Regional:
        (4) Miami vs. Providence -
        Denver vs. Boston College -

        East Regional Champion -

        First Round Bonus Questions:
Bonus #1 - Total Number of Goals Scored in the First Round (8 games) -
Bonus #2 - Total Number of Saves made in the First Round (8 games) -
Bonus #3 - Total Number of minutes of OT in the First Round* (8 games) -

        Regional Final Bonus Questions:
Bonus #1 - Average Number of Penalty Minutes in Regional Finals** (4 games) -
Bonus #2 - Total Number of Shots on Goal by Region Champions (4 teams) -
Bonus #3 - Average Time of Regional Final Game Winning Goal scored*** (4 teams) -

Scoring: 3 points for each game in the First Round. 4 points for each game in the Regional Final.
        Bonus Scoring:
        - Bonus #1 - 5 points, deducting 1 point per number off until 0 (can't go into negative)
        - Bonus #2 - 10 points, deducting 1 point per number off until 0 (can't go into negative)
        - Bonus #3 - 10 points, deducting 1 point per number off until 0 (can't go into negative)

        * - I will round to the nearest minute.
** - So if the teams combine for 120 penalty minutes total between the 4 games, the average number would be 30 penalty minutes. This number is per game, NOT per team.
*** - I will use the same style of scoring that I did for the previous GWG bonus, up to 10 minutes (can earn 1/2 points). If you believe the average will be 3:03 into the 2nd period, then you would predict 23:03.

If you have any questions, let me know. Enjoy, and Good Luck!

Bracket integrity reigns supreme with the committee...especially when 3 entrants from the same team make the tournament.
