Interesting hire for Women's Team. He may be able to coach at a high level but from what I have heard, since the last years of Digit's tenure and the years after her recruiting will be his real challenge.

It looks like, if you haven't had an international tour in the last four years, you will have a couple of exempt games in Belfast. http://www.belfastlive.co.uk/sport/o...arebar_twitter

Uconn, Holy Cross, Vermont, Providence (2) Lake Superior. Then either Mass-Lowell or Northeastern at the Belfast BeanPot. Evidently they will play Colgate in Belfast and it will count as an ECAC game.

The Official announcement will come during the Frozen Four but its already been leaked by various sources that the teams are Brown, Colgate, Northeastern & Lowell. You mean the Bears might actually have the opportunity to play the Northeastern Huskies next season before Bruno's decommitted duo of Kevin & Derick Roy graduate in 2016? The Hockey Gods must be smiling.

Is LSSU and UVM going to be part of the Catamount Cup? LSSU already has a pretty full schedule, and I don't foresee them playing much else.

Nifty goal by Matt Lorito in SO to win game. Scroll down for the brief replay. BTW, he got his second first star as well.

The aforementioned schedule is perhaps the most random group of opponents I've ever seen us play. Interesting!

I like that we're playing more Hockey East teams. I don't like that we're flying all the way to Ireland to do so, and I especially don't like that one of the games counts as a conference game.

The last three national champions are Yale, Union, and Providence. There is no reason academically, geographically or otherwise that we can't compete with these teams. I'm expecting better things in 2015-16!

What do you guys think? I've heard this will be a league game as well. Have no idea how these teams were selected. Not sure if we're stupid or crazy or both to do this in the middle of the season. Colgate has Clarkson and SLU the following weekend; the turnaround will be very tough and could be costly.

First of all, congratulations to the Providence College Friars, to coach Nate Leaman, and to athletic director Bob Driscoll.

Like Jim Laughlin (AD at Union) Bob Driscoll understood that it was possible for a relatively small school with a small endowment to win a national championship in hockey. Together with the administration of their colleges, they made a concerted effort to support hockey at the highest level. The result has been two national titles. Contrast that with the modus operandi in the Brown Athletic Department, with its obsession to raise revenue in a vain attempt to spread limited resources among thirty-eight teams. (Does Brown really need a wrestling team and two fencing teams?) No wonder Brown has won 15 Ivy championships over the last ten years while Princeton has won 105, and every other Ivy school (including Columbia) has won more titles than Brown.

Simply put, Jim Laughlin and Bob Driscoll (not to mention Union President Stephen Ainly and Providence College President Father Brian Shanley) get it.

                              A LESSON TO BE LEARNED

"Our president [the Rev Brian Shanley] and our athletic director [Bob Driscoll], you've got to have support by these people if you're going to be successful. And we're fortunate enough to have support like that." Providence College Coach Nate Leaman

                                Brown hockey continues:

Finished my taxes and walked over to the TU for the Devils game. Worth the trip - Matt had a goal and 4 assists. He simply amazes me with his vision on the ice.

Good post-game interview with him and video of his points with this link

BTW, you can just about make me out behind the Devils goal in 1st and 3rd periods.
