watching 30 yrs or so now. Realized that any sort of prediction is kind of like being in a dark room, reaching into a paper bag and pulling something out that you can't see. I can't see the point of wasting my time even thinking about it. When I was preg with Lil les they were supposed to suck beyond suck. Even the coaches thought so. They went the farthest they ever have gone short of the last yr. After that I just show up and see what happens

I agree though, no way are we top 20.
They don't know anything, yet the odds makers make the casinos a lot of money.

There's a presale for season ticket holders right now as well. FYI, the flexbooks do not currently exist (though the group sales person told me they are trying to bring them back). Single game tickets are now $19 each. Group tickets (buy 10 or more for one game) are $10 each.

Also, for those without season tickets, the exhibition game is NO LONGER FREE. It's $19 just like a regular season game.

Expectations for this season are flat, hope for the best but wouldn't surprise me to see a bit of a struggle sometimes given what we've lost from last season. Never expected what came after the 5 win season so you never know.

Just hope at the home opener they've consolidated some of those banners and we don't end up with more multiples from last season, looks silly. Put the DI tourney appearances on one banner, keep the Frozen Four one, put the HE tourney titles on one and the regular season on one, all with room to add more years. Having all of those up there looks ridiculous and it's kind of embarrassing.

One of us works in probability and mathematics... It isn't you.

They make money by setting odds that are likely to make money and ideally they keep enough money on both sides of the bet to win.

Now, if you think our chance of winning the whole deal a shade under 4% by all means, lay down your cash.

The position on the list doesn't make them the money, the odds plus the vig does.

Vegas at best is hedging on past performance and even then... Probability still has to exceed .04 to make it worth the bet

Edit: and where do you have them? Bet if the betting gets heavy for lowell then the odds drops... That's how Vegas works. To get the odds close enough that you bet but far away enough that they make money.

                Math. UGH.

This isn't about math. It is about dreams. You come from Red Sox land. You are supposed to have learned how to dream and have your hopes crushed every yr not aim low and be pleasantly surprised....

Prior to last season, they had consolidated. Then someone decided to go crazy with banners like the Bruins used to do for every division title they ever won, etc. Looks silly and embarrassing.
