That could be the case. Also there is the chance that Kasdorf hasn't recovered sufficiently from surgery, although we have heard that he has been practicing.

I had heard from someone this past winter that he was retiring sometime this year.......doesn’t make it fact though.
Brandon Pirri: Turk would give it to Jagr. That's awesome! Jagr's untouchable. And he would give it to Jagr.

Isn't including Dillon in the press release just an indication that he signed an LOI? In every other Division I sport that I am aware of coaches cannot say anything beyond confirming "Yes, I'm recruiting that guy" until they receive an LOI. Presumably hockey is the same. Of course, he could still chose to go the major juniors route instead of heading to Troy in 2015.

....a slippery-slope regarding recruits. I noticed SA sent out a congratulatory Tweet to Praps but not Dillon (not that he may not have personally called).

Very correct. It was the Athletic Department that first mentioned it (post 816) not SA.

Fast Eddie has retired but will still be covering RPI hockey. Makes me wonder what else he did. Definately knot editting.

Article about Alec Dillon and childhood friend Dysin Mayo of Edmonton (WHL) both being drafted in the fifth round http://www.timescolonist.com/sports/...ends-1.1186162.

Dillon has a U.S. collegiate NCAA athletic scholarship offer to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute beginning in 2015-16. Dillon’s WHL rights are held by the Oil Kings, leaving open the possibility of the old Island friends playing together in Edmonton.

“We’re hoping to get Alec out [to play in the WHL for the Oil Kings],” said Mayo.
SA and company may have to work to keep Dillon.

Hockey's Future draft review for LA http://www.hockeysfuture.com/article...w/#more-110503.

Alec Dillon, G, Victoria Grizzlies (BCHL)
                            5th round, 150th overall
                            Height: 6-5 Weight: 170

Big Alec Dillon was the second and final future collegiate player the Kings selected in the 2014 draft. He will play one more year for the Victoria Grizzlies in the BCHL before heading to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in NCAA.
For a fifth-round pick, Dillon is one of those low-risk high-reward style pick-ups. He is massive goaltender standing at 6’5”. Since he is all arms and legs, Dillon covers the net extremely well, and when he plays his positioning correctly, he is a challenging figure to beat. He is a very raw talent, but with that sort of physical make up, he is an intriguing goaltender to develop. His athleticism has been a bit of a concern, but he will only get more comfortable with more experience and more physical development. Kings have done well with Martin Jones, who had a similar scouting report on him.

The Victoria native is heading to the NCAA in a few years and has a fairly long development path. That works out perfectly fine for the Los Angeles Kings, who have a pretty stacked pipeline of goaltenders already with Jones, Jean-Francois Berube, and Patrik Bartosak.
Good to see that they are not predicting that he will head to Edmonton, but that might be lack of research.

                              And about MP http://www.lfpress.com/2014/07/02/lo...l-import-draft

Mark Hunter said he is no closer to signing 18-year-old defender Michael Prapavessis, the Dallas Stars fourth rounder who is Knights property but committed to RPI this fall. The same goes for Leafs fourth-round pick J.J. Piccinich, the right winger from New Jersey aimed at Boston University this fall.

“Right now, their minds are still to go to college,” Hunter said, “but things do change.”
