From what we understand what he’s stated is that he will go where we want him to go, so we’ll have to decide. That’ll be up to the development guys to decide where the best [place is] for him to go.... http://lakingsinsider.com/2014/06/28...g-alec-dillon/
I was just going to post that, but then I realized that it was the same one which you found. I hope that Dillon really wants to go to college and realizes that even though he has been drafted, he isn't certain of success in the pros.

He is not listed on the RPI site as an incoming freshman.

This is exactly the argument that can be made for Dillon. Major Jr kids play more games, but practice less largely due to travel. Goalies and defenseman typically develop at a slower pace than forwards...there is a strong argument for Dillon coming to Troy, not the least of which being a few hour car ride for the Kings AHL staff to keep an eye on him.

And for a goalie if he can play almost all the games for a college, as Kasdorf did in 2012-13, the number of games isn't that much different from sharing duties in major junior.

Perhaps they offered the scholarship on the off-chance that Kasdorf may have left.

The article was written by the high school beat writer, so she may have very limited knowledge and experience with college hockey.

Thanks. Did our favorite RPI hockey writer leave the Record?
