Finish high enough in the PWR and know you made the tournament = PWR based tournament. Once you're in, you better be okay beating whomever if you want to be national champs.

sure, but it is a lot easier to beat a few teams with SOS at 34 and 42, then it is to handle the teams that just beat 3 or 4 top 10 teams in a row to get to you.

The reason for the talent in the west? Because MN didn't rely on Canada.

        Like Holy Cross and Yale?
You'd think you western folk would want your regional stuffed with western teams... that way at least one of you has a chance of advancing!

Man... nothing like a 70 mph fastball over the heart of the plate.

Are you arguing that CC is the equivalent to Holy Cross? Seriously?

Exactly. But a little humbling between championships makes it easier to swallow.

But really... we wouldn't mind coming out and playing any of you. Or, you can come here. It's all good!
              OR...
just keep beetching about your regional that hasn't even been selected yet.

If BC should win the qtrs against ND, did you also check BC's other opponents in the semi and final? What if they then beat a Lowell and a PC? Is Minny still #1 with a sweep?
Because Minnesota has a win over BC, the Common Opponent piece ends up important. LOWELL and Union don't matter at all for that.

If BC sweeps ND, it means Minnesota needs good results in 2 weeks against Michigan, who is also a common opponent. Of Minnesota fails in that, they could make it up in the B10 tournament versus Michigan or Wisconsin.

Best for Minnesota is for BU to defeat ND. That is because they already have a split.

No. They are equivalent to Yale though.

Didn't CC win the WCHA in 2011? I thought they were pretty good

I see. Wisco is also a common opponent that BC has a win over. BC lost to Mich. Lowell has wins over Mich, Mich State and Penn St. How's that figure in? LOL... You number nerds are awesome. I mean that in a good way.

Of course, it would have been worse if BC got smoked on home ice.

Minnesota's losses were in Grand Forks and Grand Rapids, so not sure what you are talking about.

                            Close enough.

CC had stayed west to take down BC.
Yale and Holy Cross had to travel west to take down their Goliath's.

My point stands... you guys are better off with all western teams in your Regional. Trust me!

The NCAA just needs to conferences like in the NHL so that all the western teams play each other in a bracket and all the eastern teams play each other in a bracket with the top two eastern teams and the top two western teams facing off in the frozen four.
