It's literally right across the street.

The others are Big Mama's, Dixie Quick's, and Joe Tess.

As far as overall food quality, the best, by far, is Dixie Quick's. It has moved since the show aired and is now over in Council Bluffs, however.
Also went to Joe Tess, and thought it was meh. I did, however, get the fried carp, which is notoriously inedible, so I would certainly go back and give them a chance with a more traditional eating fish.

I already weighed in in the UNO thread for you about the "what-to-do's" for you here in Omaha. I saw your post in Mavpuck, too, about it. Caveat emptor on some of that advice rendered to you there based on what I already had to say about some of the places they mentioned that I warned you off of. Whether my advice is good wholly depends on your food and drink tastes. Just remember that my wife is a chef and the former director of the culinary school here and my thoughts are VERY colored by that.

Megna and Coach Blais finish out the last game of their utterly ridiculous and undeserved suspensions tonight.

What this series may bring, who knows? Based on what I have seen UNO do in conference, and, what I have seen UNO and other NCHC teams do out of conference, I am of a mind that the NCHC, save St Cloud State, isn't very good this year.

That said, we have looked very, very good in every home conference game we have played. Red Berenson, Dave Hakstol, and Enrico Blasi, all three, publicly said after playing UNO they had a difficult time skating with us.

I'm getting more and more unhappy with the direction the program has taken, frankly, the past 3 seasons. The program has regressed and I am getting tired of all these incidents that have occurred over those seasons that have manifestly affected this team and the program over that same time frame. We've gone from the unfortunate incident realm to "trend" and that is concerning.

Doesn't look there will much more than about 6,000 at tonight's game.

My gift to UMD fans. The game is on TV, locally. You can watch it. This is totally under the radar. It is not on any TV schedule that I have seen at the places you would normally see it. The game is being broadcast statewide here on NETV (Nebraska Public Television) and it is also streamed on their web site, freebie, and, it's a great stream, too:

    http://netnebraska.org/interactive-m...-duluth-vs-uno

They are doing 3 UNO home games this season this way, and this is the 2nd of the 3 they will show.

    Enjoy.

That is a great tip that we will have to take advantage of. Sounds like theres plenty of great places within walking distance that will be able to take advantage of. We plan on visiting the zoo on Saturday as well.

Biddco, there's not much else to tell you for food and lodging. There's plenty within 6 blocks of the arena. If you're looking for something to do during the day saturday there will be the annual outdoor show there as well and anout a 40 minute drive west on I 80 is the strategic air and space museum. Pretty interesting if you like military stuff. Casinos across the river if you like squandering money. Have fun.

Have fun, Omaha was my group's favorite road trip! We went to an Irish place right after the game that was within walking distance of the arena. Beware, their Irish Car Bombs are lethal LOL! We went to another place called Froggy's(I believe...?) which was fun. There are quite a few bars by the arena that we didn't hit though so I'm sure you can explore if you're staying down there.
Sounds like there is plenty to chose from! I'm very excited. Plus this could be the last time UMD plays in the CLink.

I first thought the Old Market was much further away. We'll walk there for after game festivities.

There used to be 2 or 3 red cow people who posted on here regularly, but I haven't seen anything from them in weeks. As a former resident of the area who still visits there frequently, I'll try to help, for what it's worth. You're likely staying in the Hilton, which connects by skywalk to the C Link. It's just a couple blocks north of the Old Market area of Omaha, which has a ton of bars and restaurants. There are also some new, but kinda average bars/restaurants a couple blocks west of the C Link, by the new baseball field that's home to the College World Series. Some nice restaurants (although less hockey-friendly) out at Midtown Crossing, a couple miles west on Dodge.

And there are multiple Red Lobsters. I think it's a 10% discount if you wear NoDak gear.

    I like it.

UNO had(has?) their own forum. I asked them a few questions about Omaha a few years back. They were very helpful, but I never made the trip. I think I found some of their people on here too, but I don't think old post exist.
