On Saturday, FiveHole12 went an impressive 7-3-0 to take over the top spot. BCeagle was the best predictor on Saturday, going an amazing 9-1-0 to earn 36 points. all bear correctly predicted 24 1-goal (or less) games to earn the 15 bonus, and also took the top spot in Saturday's standings with 39 points. The average point total for Saturday was 23.95 points earned. Combined, we predicted 58.18% of the games correctly. That pushes our overall mark to 56.16%.

Friday Update:

The big winners on Friday were aygwm2 (34 points) and gochiefs (32 points). gochiefs went an impressive 6-0-4 on Friday, to earn 32 points, while aygwm2 earned the 10 point bonus for correctly predicting 6 road winners (aren't you glad I rounded ) to go along with a 4-2-4 prediction record. The other bonus (HE SOG) yielded points to only 3 predictors. Laker Dude and mcfarljd each earned 4 points for their predictions of 350 shots on goal (actual total was 356). I managed to be the blind squirrel this week, and earned 6 points for predicting 352 shots on goal. As for averages on Friday, we collectively correctly predicted 59.55% of the games, upping our overall correct pick percentage to 56.003%. The average points scored on Friday was 24.91 points.

For Saturday, Laker Dude sits just 4 points behind co-leaders 1988 and FiveHole12. The key games will be Bentley-Canisius (FH12 picked Canisius, LD and 1988 picked Bentley), Colgate-Harvard (FH12 and LD picked Colgate, 1988 picked Harvard), Omaha-Miami (FH12 picked Omaha, LD and 1988 picked Miami), and Vermont-Northeastern (FH12 picked Vermont, LD and 1988 picked Northeastern). That being said, bonus can still complicate things even further with 20 additional bonus points on the line. The B1G produced a defensive showing on Friday night, as only 4 goals were scored. At least 12 goals will need to be scored in the B1G tonight for anyone to earn points. As for the 1-goal games bonus, there were 14 games decided by 1 goal or less on Friday night. If 12 or fewer games are decided by 1 goal or less tonight, somebody will walk away with 15 bonus points. If there are 13-17, or more than 18, nobody will earn any points, and if there are 18, Laker Dude will earn the big bonus.

Nothing scientific, I was simply guessing (emphasis on guessing) that maybe 25% of the 25 games would be won by road teams on Friday = 6.25. And, 33% of the 51 games this weekend would be decided by 1 goal or less = 16.83. Just having a little fun seeing as I don't think I've garnered a lot of points from the bonus questions, and since my actual picks record continues to stay south of .500 at 61 - 66 - 13. Is that correct?

61-66-13 is correct. Of course, you're 11-7-2 since the Holiday pick'em. Keep that up and you'll be back over .500 in no time.

As for the decimals, I simply switched them to whole numbers because the only way you can earn points on those predictions is to be exactly correct. If somehow you were exactly correct in your 6.25 or 16.83, I think we can all agree to quit predicting games and let you handle it from here on in...oh, and you should probably go buy some lottery tickets too.
