I hope he gets well soon-he will be sorely missed.
I absolutely agree - I'm no doc (and know that you are !), but in addition to my ACL tear, I had a partial MCL sprain / tear in each of my knees at different times. Its a month to 6 weeks. I also agree that he will be sorely missed. I love the way he plays and he makes things happen.

The combination of MCL, PCL and Medial Meniscus being injured is referred to as the terrible triad and well known to orthopods who treat football and hockey injuries of the knee.
Thats what I get for posting without having read all of the thread...

        Let's go white
I've always enjoyed the alternating "GO WHITE!" "GO WHITE!" cheer. I believe that was chanted quite a bit at last year's Whiteout. "Go go go you white white white, fight fight fight you white white white, let's go white!" has a nice ring to it as well.

At the last away game vs Union in Schenectady, there was quite a bit of alternating "GO RED!" "GO RED!" chanting from the (huge) RPI student section.

But possibly apocryphal. According to the Cornell athletics website, the "brilliance" of Cornell's red uniforms at a Penn football game inspired the design of Campbell's soup cans starting in 1899.

"R P I" is also a cheer heard at non-Cornell games as well (less often than LGR) so I don't think it's quite a drastic change-up.
I like the RPI cheer as well.

It's a good story, even if it may not be true.

BTW, I didn't realize that Cornell wasn't founded until 1865. That means that RPI is older than at least one of the so-called "Ancient Eight." Union is probably older than a few, but I guess older doesn't mean wiser in that case.

Yes, this. In our house, Cornell fans chanting "Let's Go Red" only amplifies our own.

That's quite OK There is a lot of medicine that I can't comment on because I just don't know-but 4 years of med school, 1 year of medical internship, 4 years of residency and 30+ years in practice does give one some broad experience. It puzzles me though how coach SA could comment so quickly about the minor nature of the injury-an MRI would have had to be done and looked ate carefully-they are ot all that easy to read (I have seen several interpretations of the same films by diferent radiologists and orthopedic specialists).

Yep - part of the money for founding Cornell came from the Morrill Land Grant act. Cornell is the youngest Ivy by more than 100 years - took 'em that long to get it right.

'course, my wife's college at Oxford is celebrating its 500th this year, which even Harvard won't do for another 127 years!

As you know, it all depends on the severity Doc. I'm sure it swelled and stiffened overnight so Jerry likely had more discomfort yesterday and today. Of course the imaging will confirm the injury and lead them to a treatment path. Two weeks isn't out of the question IF the MRI doesn't throw up a surprise. Too many variables for anyone - including coach - to be stating timetables right now.

I'll ignore the white font but yes, Union was founded in 1795 so we are older than.

                        In order:

You should probably have your eyes checked, then. There were at least 200 RPI fans in attendance, mostly directly across from the Union student section, but also some directly to the right of the Union student section.

Two things about your silly little chant. First, it's kinda ridiculous considering that even saying it pretty much confirms that yes, you can hear us. Second, I do believe we offered you a taste of your own medicine after Chase Polacek made it so you could hear a pin drop in that place. And yes, I know you could hear US chanting "we can't hear you," because it echoed. Perfect example of a chant backfiring.

I noticed at that game that the RPI contingent pretty much ran the cheering. Whenever we would start in with "Let's Go Red," the lazy Union section, as is the norm, would just wait until we were finished with "Let's Go," and finished by simply shouting "U." Very, very weak.

Can we get a Capital District sweep this weekend? Would love to see it.
