Re: Bentley Falcons 2013-2014: No offseason. No excuses.
Great weekend for the Falcons. Komm is in the zone, the first two lines are clicking, the PP has been excellent, and the D-men have played awesome hockey.

Fantastic weekend at the JAR. Everything's clicking right now and Komm is standing on his head. Very excited to see them in action against BU come Saturday

BU did not do so well this weekend, so unlikely that they will be ranked come Monday. But, that is fine; if Bentley continues to play as well as they have the past three weeks, good chance that they can earn second OOC win this season.

Winning Ways!! It's working, keep going with it.
Great to see They chose to Win! Hopefully with the next two games being "special" an OOC and Frozen conference, the "special-ness"... doesnt interfer with the winning ways

BU are a awful this year. Averaging 3 shots a period and are only ahead of UAH and AIC in SOG. Bentley should win handily.

Can definitely appreciate the optimism. BU is an up and down team with a lot of natural talent and abilities. They knew they'd have to gut the program after Jack retired, which is too bad because David Quinn is a great guy. But Quinn is in the process of making BU his own. On natural ability, I think BU dwarfs this Bentley team, but Bentley is playing some of its best hockey in a couple of years. They just have to keep it up.
What's amazing for the Falcons is that this was really the first DECISIVE domination of an opponent, which they needed to do since RMU is now in 12th place. This is a Bentley team that oculd easily be undefeated in conference play, too, since they haven't really lost to a team that truly outplayed them.
Looking forward to the game this weekend. The school has been selling tickets.
Can also confirm that the school is in the process of picking up about 300 more seats for Fenway since the original batch and the secondary batch sold out.
Win today and we'll walk together forever. -Ray Shero
Re: Bentley Falcons 2013-2014: No offseason. No excuses.
I did a whole heap of record breakdowns this morning. Individual accomplishments have the potential to really fall this year.
Congratulations to Branden Komm for tying the all-time wins record this past weekend. Also, as a note, Komm has the chance to break the record either at BU or at Fenway. very cool to think he'd break the all-time wins record at Landsdowne St.
Any word on the street how we're doing in terms of ticket sales for BU?
As of last night we had sold around 120 for BU. Kind of disappointing considering we had sold nearly 100 almost a full week ago. Fenway is another story however, they can't keep up with the demand. Its around 500 sold for Frozen Fenway so far and we can expect that number to continue to rise.
Nice write up, but I wouldn't consider giving up a goal, 5 on 3 "a late garbage goal" . Esp since the pk unit was in good postion, the shot coming from outside. It may have redirected or there could have been a screen situation with the player closer to the net.
Absolutely agree giving up garbage goals when in the lead is not acceptable, like giving up 7 goals in a game with a 4-1 lead, that is a problem and not an anomaly or outlier, maybe an ok excuse for AIC but not for Bentley, just plain bad.
Also agree that the league losses could all be wins if played with strong Defensive units and a defense first mentality from the whole team. The offense is there for sure, it doesnt need much help from the backside sans getting the puck out on the break out. Having an offensive Dman that doesn't cost you defensively is a god send and you have that in Weinstein. He never hurts you on the ice, that can't be said for many offensive dmen.
After that is all Defense for the W's, the goaltending and goal scorers are there.
Two more W's to close out December, it's a choice...
