On Tuesday, the Lincoln Stars lost to the Sioux Falls Stampede 2-0. They have lost the best-of-five playoff series 3-2. Thus ends their season and that of the last known RPI recruits. Jimmy DeVito had no points or penalties. Jake Wood had no points or penalties. Riley Bourbonnais didn't dress. http://ushl2011.stats.pointstreak.co...gameid=2182487

I would project coming down to earth for Melanson now that he's had the opportunity to play a professional-style schedule instead of the high school and college schedule he's used to.

My guess is that as far as Melanson is concerned, it is lack of bulk. He was improving as the year progressed. Someone may still take a flyer on him. As far as Reno is concerned, I think his offense is adequate. It isn't his primary strength.

Scouts know that some kids are ready now. Others are not going to be ready for a couple years. But they have to project and make their choices now or they can miss a talented player completely. Trying to fiugre out the process is just not easy. The first round choices are pretty easy to predict-some kids just stand out so much at every level. But after that, it is a total gamble. The draft is not far off-and very few players will still be playing in a little while. It will be interesting to see if we have any of our players picked.
