You are correct. Coach Harrison talked with the CHW rules committee before the tournament to ensure that all his players were good to go before accepting the invitation.

Introductions are underway, and the crowd is going nuts right now. We're still awaiting the singer of the National Anthem as well...

        And it's KAY STARR!!!

What a beautiful rendition! Crowd is thumpin' in triple metre getting ready for this one. Puck will be dropped shortly, and I'll be back after the first to give the recap of the opening twenty minutes.

Well, the first twenty minutes are in the books, and it was a pretty strong period for the Golden Knights. Ed MacDonald got the start in net for Clarkson, and Bruce Hoffort started for LSSU. It was pretty back and forth until about midway through the period when Jack Porter scored from the slot to give the Golden Knights a 1-0 lead. A few minutes later, while on the man advantage, they stretched that out to a two goal lead as Eddie Rowe scored on a rebound. The final five minutes or so of the period was pretty much stuck in the neutral zone, and after twenty minutes, Clarkson is up 2-0. Shots on goal in the first: Clarkson - 12, LSSU - 7.

2nd period just got over, and it was a pretty tight affair. Once again though, the Golden Knights struck around the midway point of the period to take a 3-0 lead when Ellard Gutzman scored on a wrister from the slot that Hoffort got a piece of, but the puck fluttered into the net. Coach Anzalone took his timeout, and that seemed to tilt the ice in favor of LSSU, and the Lakers finally got on the board in the final minutes of the second period when Mark Vermette scored on a 2 on 1. After two periods of play, Clarkson leads 3-1, but the momentum seems to be in LSSU's favor right now. Shots on goal in the 2nd: Clarkson - 10, LSSU - 8.

What coach would pull their goalie with 5 minutes left?

The first period is in the books. An exciting twenty minutes of play nearly turned into a goal-scorers delight. However, the posts were the big story, as each team rang a shot off the pipe in the opening frame. The Falcons finally solved the stalemate with just over three minutes to play when Jamie Wansbrough roofed a wrister over Scott Clemmensen to give Bowling Green a 1-0 lead. That would be the score after 20 minutes of play. First Period Shots on Goal: Bowling Green - 11, Boston College - 9.

The second period is in the books. Bowling Green had several chances throughout the period, but squandered three consecutive powerplays. BC then got a powerplay, and took control of the game, but were unable to score. Finally, with just 24 ticks on the clock, Brooks Orpik scored on a bomb from the point. After forty minutes of play, the game is all tied up at 1. Shots on goal in the 2nd: Boston College - 9, Bowling Green - 5.

WOW! What a third period. BC stormed out to a 2-1 lead just seconds into the third on a Tony Voce goal, then held off a tremendous push by the Falcons to try to get the game tied. BGSU had a powerplay, but BC killed, which gave the Eagles the momentum back, and it seemed like BC would get the insurance goal. With just a bit over two minutes left, BC took a penalty, and Bowling Green pulled their goalie for a 6x4...and it worked! John Semanski scored to tie the game and send it into overtime. Whew...

Should be a tremendous finish here in LA.

What an ending! It looked like the game might just go to 2OT, but it ended with just seconds to go.
