Yes. They certainly surprised me at #10, but they had quite the season that year. The Spartans dominated the '98 Wolverines that season, beating them 4 times. Of course, like many Michigan State teams of that era, they failed when it counted the most, falling to Ohio State in Ann Arbor.

The National Anthem part is fun, too.

It will be interesting to see who gets slotted into which spot.

Are you rotating through different genres, picking the tops from each one?

    E.g.,

    Motown:
    Diana Ross, Gladys Night, etc.

    Rock:
    Jimi Hendrix, The Who, etc.

    Country:
    Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, etc.

    Opera:
    Renee Fleming, Placido Domingo, etc.

    Superstars beyond a mere category:
    Michael Jackson, The Beatles, etc.

That would have been pretty tough for him to do since he died on December 10th, 1967.

Well, I was apparently over-ambitious in how many games I could get done this weekend. I won't be able to get another game done today, so the '01 BC - '84 BGSU game and '56 Clarkson - '88 LSSU game will get pushed back.

Here will be the proposed schedule next weekend...

    Thursday:
    Northeast Regional: #16 - 1955-1956 Clarkson vs. #49 - 1987-1988 LSSU
    Midwest Regional: #20 - 2000-2001 BC vs. #45 - 1983-1984 BGSU

    Friday:
    East Regional: #26 - 1994-1995 BU vs. #39 - 1994-1995 Maine
    West Regional: #3 - 1960-1961 DU vs. #62 - 2001-2002 UNH

    Saturday:
    Northeast Regional: #25 - 1970-1971 BU vs. #40 - 1984-1985 Duluth
    Midwest Regional: #4 - 1986-1987 UND vs. #61 - 2003-2004 Maine

    Sunday:
    East Regional: #10 - 1997-1998 Michigan State vs. #74 2009-2010 Miami
    West Regional: #22 - 1955-1956 Michigan vs. #86 - 1974-1975 Michigan Tech

Obviously, I'll do my best to get these games done as scheduled, but no guarantee.

Hey! There's no "playful" in hockey. This is some serious excrement in this thread!

Well, the third period has ended. North Dakota made a comeback, but was it enough?

Second period is in the books. North Dakota pushed to get the equalizer, but Denver played a real strong period to keep the Sioux off the board. About midway through the second, Denver capitalized on an aggressive Sioux squad, as Tom Gilmore scored on a breakaway to give Denver a 2-0 advantage. That's the score after two periods of play.

    ...

    What a performance!!

Well, I'll be back after the first twenty minutes are in the books, as the puck is about to be dropped by a CCHA officiating crew.

    Today's game will be...

    #14 - 1967-1968 Denver Pioneers vs. #51 - 1998-1999 North Dakota Fighting Sioux
West Regional - Round of 64
    Jobing.com Arena - Glendale, AZ
    March 1, 2014

Game time is at 3:00pm Eastern, so puck should be set to drop shortly.

Unknown yet as to who will be singing the National Anthem, but we should find out in a few moments as introductions are underway.

Obviously, '77-78 DU and '01-02 DU are both out of the tournament, so at this point in time, I won't be doing a recap or anything like that. However, I can throw them in the simulator and give you the outcome if you'd like?
