Sometimes yeah... its nice to be able to meet up with someone and watch the game for a bit if they are in different seats from you. Really though, there is not enough of the open space like that. IMO Agganis would be much improved if there was one or two less boxs in each corner of the arena to create just a little bit more open space for that.

HAA isn't the best place to watch a game from the concourse, but there's definitely areas to do so. The reason I tend to like HAA over Tsongas is the pitch of the seating at Tsongas takes it very far backwards and I've found sitting towards the top of a section that I'm fairly far away from the action, where Agganis has a steeper pitch so you're higher, but closer. That said, I had almost center ice seats in the bleachers at Conte the other night and the view was excellent, great place to watch a game, if it had a chairback, it'd be ideal.

Its pretty obvious that the refs gave Jerry his win on TV in front of the home crowd and that's cool. Given the quality of
HE refs nowadays I'm not too surprised although one wonders if Coach York, a class act by all accounts, wouldn't have preferred to win the game fair and square instead of getting like 20 5 on 3 situations and blatant trips being called diving.

Curious to see if the team goes in the tank @ Providence in order for York to break the record at home. I mean, it wouldn't be the first time a BC sports team threw a game...

Anyway, happy about BU's play. Lots of effort, good goaltending, and some offensive spark. Looking forward to seeing BC again come Beanpot or HE tourney time. There is room for improvement however, such as:

        1) Can any of them hit the open net with regularity? I feel sorry for Rodrigues girlfriend as she must have a sore belly button and I'll leave it at that. Same for Privatera, who had both sides of the net wide open and Milner dead to rights but missed the net by 10 feet even though he was in closer than the faceoff circle.

        2) Spent too much of the game flat on the ice. Need to pick up the hitting, especially after refs put the game out of reach. If you're going to get penalties, might as well earn them.

yes, you could definitely notice the steeper pitch at HAA in the pic Adam posted. I don't know why BC hasn't replaced the embarrassing God awful benches. Oh, wait, maybe i do. still i dont think it can be that much $$ for that though it may shrink the capacity somewhat. Maybe with the new AD and these other projects going on they'll loosen the purse strings but i'm not holding my breath waiting for it but it would be a great upgrade IMO

Have you really never been to HAA?

Also the bleachers in BC are wider than those at most places (Matthews and Alfond who both lost seats in renovations recently come to mind) so I would expect the capacity to remain constant, or at worst lose one seat per row, should they replace them with seats.

nope, never been. there's another BC poster, maybe JD, not sure, who has also stayed away from HAA. I know, it's insane, superstitions aside

Oh I've been to Agganis many times, just not for a BC game

Should these teams meet again, if BU can refrain from taking ******** penalties all over the ice, I'd expect a game like last year's Beanpot Final. That might be a big if though. If they make it as easy on the refs as they did Saturday night, well, they probably won't have a chance.

ah, yes, i do remember that now........so you think the Beanpot will be a BC-BU final i take it?......still one of the strangest things in sports, that there's never been a Harvard/NU final

BU is on track to become amongst the most penalized teams in the NCAA for the second year running. Don't sit here and talk about how sweet and innocent they are when we all know they try and maintain that "bad boys of Boston" mentality.

Second of all, if they threw that game then they'd also have to throw their tournament game over break as well.

Fun fact: Last season BU was 2nd in the country in PIMs and first in the country in sexual assault arrests.

They are doing much better this year, however. Only 32nd in the country and no one arrested. Yet...

Does your list of "the most penalized teams in the NCAA" include the top 55% of teams?

Or maybe you just mean in Hockey East, where BU has a full 1 more penalty minute than your team.

Considering in his first post he took Rover's jokes seriously and called him a fanboy right after Rover was calling out BU players, his stat is more factually accurate than I expected.

I always feel some sympathy for newbie BC fans. They come to school and are told that Notre Dame envies their football program, Duke wished they were BC in hoops, and that they're some sort of 9th Ivy whose grads hire Harvard people to shine their shoes.

4 years later, reality sets in. The athletic program blows. The school academically is 6th in the state at best behind HU, MIT, Tufts, Bentley, and BU even though they only offer like two degrees in Irish studies and Casino management or something like that, and most grads end up working entry level jobs with car insurance or payday loan firms. So, the one solace they have in life is York has built a d@mn good hockey program, so its all good. Let them wear their snuggies to games. Makes it easier to hide weapons handed to them by the hoops team.
