I wish they all had the drums. Some were drumming on bar stools. Quaint. Anyway, where is Brian Moon? He's the one who started Seawolf Thunder and he is nowhere to be had. Hmmmmm.

    UAF is 56-86-12 vs. UAA.

The Gophers showed full effort this weekend for a 2-2 OT tie tonight and a hard earned 3 pts for the series (Grade A-). UAA deserves credit for a more up tempo, forechecking effort tonight, taking advantage of a Gopher penalty going up 2-1 in the 2nd period for their first lead of the series. But the Gophers came back and tied it on a five hole from Haula in the 3rd period on a brilliant feed by Mark Alt for a 2-2 tie. The Gophers launched a shot storm at Gunderson and outshot the Seapups 18-6 in the third and OT, had grade A chances, but couldn't bury one for a Gopher W.

The Gopher PP went from mediocre to #1 in the WCHA scoring 5 PP goals this weekend. The Gophers came out strong in the 1st like they needed to, taking early leads in both games and played with the lead for most of the weekend. Rau bagged two goals to get back in the scoring groove. Seth Ambroz gets a PP goal tonight and showed good hustle and grit. Wilcox played very good in both games (Grade: A). Final Gophers 2, Seapups 2. SOG 33-23 Gophers.

      Next up: Bucky at Mariucci.

      Go Gophers!

        That last goal, nice.

We need more of that from Alt. Much more.

We have played 6 WCHA games and 5 have been on the road so far, some home cooking coming up.

Bucky Badger next, better dead than red!
I do agree with this as well. Without seeing or listening to either game this weekend, 3 points on the road...it could surely be worse. The games with Becky are always fun, but we need some points out of this weekend. Sweeping the Red would be a nice result. After watching most of the SCSU vs. Whioux game last night on NESN (why do they have their logo on both sides of the screen?) , I came away pretty impressed with Huskies, there is alot of talent on that team.

Agreed, I thought this was a hard fought pair of games and I am ok with 3pts on the road. They could have just as easily lost that Saturday game. They fought back and earned a tie. Could be worse. People seem to be discounting AA here(and on GPL), but AA played a much better game than on Friday. Yeah, the penalties were an issue for the Gophers, but I think they will get that cleaned up as you won't be able to give that many PP chances to many teams and get away with even a tie.

Thanks for noting that is was Alt that made the pass to Haula. That was a great play and I couldn't remember who made the pass and I was too lazy to check the box score.

As I said last year, thanks for the video feed AA fans! I know it's not perfect and I was frustrated on Saturday when it crapped out during the 2nd period, but it sure beats nothing and the better half of the 3rd and OT were flawless on my feed.
"It ain't over, baby! And that took only six seconds!"

USCHO gives me another reason to not do work while I am at work.

            Everything is Hill's fault.....

Yeah, you'd think since UAA won't allocate an actual band to UAA's games that they'd at least get them all real drums. In any case it's a lot better than a few years ago when the only noise maker was that lone vuvuzela over on the west side. One thing I'll give our hated rivals up in Bearflanks is that they have the band play at games, and that inflatable polar bear is pretty cool too.

Well Seawolf Thunder does have a sponsor, maybe more will get on board and all the drummers will have real drums.
