Friday night's game reminded me of this.

Not even close from this UND fans perspective.
UND dominated that game and then lost on a great deflection goal in the 3rd.
Last night, DU dominated early before UND turned it around. Much more even.

Any word on Weircoch tonight?

Supposedly he is skating in the pregame skate and the decision will be made after that.
Which means he is playing, but with limited minutes.

Junior Marc Cheverie will be back between the pipes as the Pioneers and North Dakota conclude a two-game series at Magness Arena. The lineup has changed slightly from Friday’s 1-0 DU victory. Freshman Chris Knowlton will replace Nate Dewhurst at right wing on the Drew Shore-centered line (with Shawn Ostrow).

Sophomore defenseman Patrick Wiercioch, who missed Friday’s game with a knee injury, might play. He will participate in the pregame skate. It will be Wiercioch or freshman Paul Phillips paired up with sophomore John Lee. Senior Cody Brookwell (illness) remains out.

After Friday’s heart-pounding victory, DU coach George Gwozdecky said Wiercioch might play in Game 2 in a limited role. We all know what that is … the power play. Wiercioch played that role last season while recovering from a shoulder injury.

The Sioux lineup hasn’t changed. Sophomore Brad Eidsness will again be in net.

Wow, that was crazy. What could have been a great series...

UND somehow only loses by 1 goal tonight after the refs give DU 11 PP attempts and disallow a UND goal with 40 sec remaining. I've never seen anything like that before.

Congrats to DU on the sweep. DU is a very strong team, there's no debating that. I only wish we could have had Genoway out there. Hopefully he's not out for too long...we've lost all three games with him out (had a goal disallowed in all three too...all one goal losses).

Hard to win a game though when you are skating 5x9 the entire game.

Denver deserved friday....they were the better team.

Sat.....not so much. The reffing was horrible. The last goal was a mockery. since when does a linesman call back the ref to lookl at an alternate view. they are only allowed to look at the overhead. Greg Shepard should either be ashamed of the officiating in this game or glad they did him a solid cause he had money on denver. wow! way to take the game out of the hands of the players and tilt the ice.

UND is going to remember this game. They need to use this for motivation. This game was stolen from them. At least an opportunity and fair chance was stolen from them.

Need to put this one behind them and take some of the positives out of it. Great play by some of the freshman, Kristo in particular, and great goaltending by Brad. Time to refocus on another big weekend a week from now.

I'm normally not bitter after losses. Last night was tough to swallow, but understandable. But tonight? I have never seen a game taken out of a teams hands like that. That was just insane. As Brian said, hopefully DU will get a taste of that later in the season. And before you say good teams overcome that, UND scored a goal late, but the refs decided that a guy shuffling made a kicking motion. Unreal.

Very bitter right now. I refuse to congratulate DU.
