UNH, I mean Union recruit Michael Vechione had a hat trick last night in USHL action including the game winner in ot. Top 15 in the league in scoring

Why cant UNH get players like that.

With the exception of the BC game at the Whitt, UNH's play as of late has been a little disappointing. They were doing a little better last night against Merrimack, but hopefully their level of play will improve to the level we know they are capable of producing!

As for the game tonight in Manchester, does anyone know if it is possible to watch the game online anywhere?

Hokydad- Did UNH drop MV or did he decommit from UNH... I cant seem to remember exactly but i believe he was asked to do another year in the USHL and he told UNH to go pound sand. Then ended up doing another year anyways? He turns 20 this year in a league with an average age of 18. I hope for the best for MV, just not against UNH

I didn't think UNH played badly, but you can't give up goals in any of these situations, especially in a tight game, and they gave up all three.....

UNH controlled the second period until MC tied up the game on that bad angle shot by Collins to Wyer's left (somehow left the post uncoverd). Merrimack controlled the third period after the go ahead goal. UNH had very few chances on the anemic power play, and took to bad penalties the last six minutes which hindered their comeback effort....

It's frustrating, BC has lost three of four and left the door open for UNH to take control of the conference, but UNH has lost.... Three of four in the same time.

MV would not be dressed for most games if he were at UNH. He's better off at a school like Union where he will get some playing time.

Better than any forward unh has coming in

He is better off at Union. Spend 4 years and get a degree that will qualify you for more then a manager trainee program at Osco Drugs

Pretty frustrating loss last night. UNH had a substantial territorial edge in the first two periods but were unable to get more than the two goals. The tying and winning goals for Merrimack were, to me, unacceptable. On the first, they let the guy set up behind the net like he was Gretzky, didn't challenge him when he started to move out to Wyer's left and then, of course, Wyer didn't hold the post, instead leaning a bit in anticipation of a pass. Isn't the first rule for a goalie to worry about the guy who has the puck and let the d worry about the rest? As for the winner, it's one thing to lose the opening face off, but to let Merrimack waltz into the zone 3-on-2. Lack of motivation there.

Which leads me to my overall observation, that UNH is just not playing as hard as they did back in the first two months. Where is the tight checking by the forwards, where is the physical play behind the net? Merrimack seemed to have no problem hitting people when UNH was in the offensive zone, why UNH doesn't do the same is beyond me. I got the impression early in the season that UNH's old way of defending had been updated. Guess not.

My suggestions is that they go back and look at the tapes of the games in October and November, particularly a couple of games they played against Lowell, and learn from them. Otherwise we could be seeing a free fall here.

You beat me to it. Pathetic.
I will not be out cheered in my own building.

Mr. Vechione, give it a rest. Your son made a choice...deal with it.

Mike Vecchione dealt with the disappointment and frustration over his decommitment from UNH a long time ago. He returned to Tri-City with his pride in tact and has steadily improved this season. I strongly doubt he harbors any of the bitterness expressed in the above post.

                          Pffffffffft.

Be careful, we're going to have some guy over here shortly that will ask you to compare your W2 to his. It's that time of the year.

Trivino has never been one of those players. Even outside of the rink, he'll say hi and is plenty of friendly, but has never been even close to saying or doing anything inappropriate.

Hd - in this particular situation, I think it's important for UNH fans to understand that you and I are expressing opinions and are not speaking on behalf of Mike Vecchione. I think it would be unfair to Mike to leave the impression with UNH fans that he currently devalues what a UNH education means to its graduates (i.e., your reference to manager training at Osco Drugs).
