On Saturday, in a preseason game, the Omaha Lancers efeated the Sioux City Musketeers 5-2. Drew Melanson did not dress. http://ushl2011.stats.pointstreak.co...gameid=2010079

Melanson's preseason line is now 3-0-1-1-15.

On Saturday, the Alberni Valley Bulldogs lost to the Langley Rivermen 7-0. Evan Tironese had a slashing penalty and a misconduct. Quite a few penalties in that game. http://www.bchl.ca/leagues/hockey_bo...2794&link=bchl

Video of the fight between Omaha and Green Bay a few days ago http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGD-z...ature=youtu.be. The video concentrates on the goalies. Melanson's (27 white) part isn't shown. (There is probably another video out there.) He is just seen leaving the ice near the beginning. The audio is NSW.

Jake Wood injured in yesterday's game................ Stars forward Jake Wood started this game, but was injured early on and did not return. It appeared to me that Wood caught an elbow to his face/head area while attempting to check a Muskegon player early in the first period. Wood tried to get up but looked very woozy. He was helped to the bench and did not return. I'm hoping this injury isn't something that's going to linger because Wood has been one of Lincoln's best players in the preseason. I think the fans are really going to love watching this kid play. He's a bit on the small side, but he's fearless with or without the puck. He's got great speed and good hands, but he's also not afraid to throw his body around looking for the big hit. http://www.lincolnstarsblog.com/
