Article about Thursday's Omaha game from the Omaha Lancers' website http://www.lancers.com/leagues/newsl...581&page=64111. It doesn't mention the fight at all. That seems odd to me. It does mention that Melanson had an assist, but nothing further.

Melanson has a one game suspension. Pure speed, hands and eyes in the back of his head.

this is a reply I received from Tim Yeti who covers Lincoln (lincolnblog)............I'm not sure how they handle that in the preseason, but during the regular season....it's normally an automatic one game suspension at the least. *But a lot of teams appeal suspensions and get the suspension reduced or eliminated. *

If a player fights with less than five minutes to go in the third period, it's at least a one game suspension. *That's something that usually can't be appealed.//////////////............ ( me) now the fight was at 18:24 of the 3rd but as I said yesterday, Sheldon Dries of GB who was involved in the fight played in their game yesterday. Guess we'll see later today.

On Saturday, in a preseason game, the Lincoln Stars defeated the Muskegon Lumberjacks 3-1. Jimmy DeVito had an assist and a fighting major penalty. Jake Wood had no points or penalties. http://ushl2011.stats.pointstreak.co...gameid=2010077

DeVito's preseason line is now 3-0-1-1-5. missing game

The guy wearing #3 for Muskegon has a familiar name.

just to add more uncertainty ......as Nolan Graham reminded me, it was the 2nd period not the 3rd. It's funny that you mention that about, "my college coach is here". That's exactly what Graham intimated (being it's a pre-season game).

We have been talking about SA going to USHL Fall Classic to look at our four recruits. It wouldn't surprise me if he is spending most of his time looking at others, especially a replacement for Bailen next season. He is watching and speaking to our recruits, but I think that additional recruiting is #1 on the agenda.
