Re: Crazy-Azz Cronin Welcomes Timid Timmay pher 2

Maine almost pulls out a point, but Matthews Arena has become a very tough place to play. Kudos to the Dog House.

Dave Hendrickson has been a fan of the Huskies in these past few week... let's see if we can prove him right with a 4 point weekend.

... hey, he knows more about hockey than I do ;-)

..well he did pick us last wknd over BU & BC..

so he's about half right let's just go with that this wknd.

Home advantage might help us..but it won't last all wknd. I think they (the Black Bears), will get pts this wknd. I'm hoping we can minimize it to 2 or less pts.

Maines road record is pretty pathetic, if I were a NU fan I wouldn't worry much. The key is Darling, if he plays well Maine has a shot at some points. Going by Umass and UNH games, I'd say the odds were slim and none

It was close in the 05-06 HE Semis, when BC played Maine. 6' 5" Ben Bishop vs 6' 2" Cory Schneider. The poor goal judge thought he'd be able to see the far end of the ice in at least one period, then realized that both goalies were huge.

Well.. couple hrs to gametime. Too many injuries on this NU team.. i think Maine comes out strong tonight. We'll do well if we can manage a tie.

Tomorrow i think we play better after having figured out the lines & play from tonight.

Seriously we're out too many good players for me to feel confident. Of course if freshmen can step up..great!.. i still think we'll have our hands full.

              G'luck team

Realistically NU will be happy with any points considering the injuries. We'll probably have 2 guys playing D that have never played D before. If McNeely is indeed out, I do not feel confident at all on offense. Try to get a Vroylk Vermeersch 1-2 punch and hope for the best.

                  Well.. that was ugly.

Congrats to Maine on a good win. I feared this & my Friday the 13th scenario played out..

You were faster to the pucks, scored short-handed, scored often, scored on the PP, scored on 5x3, scored right after our PP.. just outplayed us tonight. I did not see the penalty on McNeely so i cannot comment.

I did see the penalty on Tuckerman.. i thought it was a tough break for him. I really thought it was a legit hit from where i was sitting but perhaps ref had a better view i don't know.

I still think it was a bad call (my opinion only).. regardless, would not have affected the outcome tonight.

Perhaps the refs were trying to impress the media - Brendan Walsh & Mike Milbury..

I think we close the gap tomorrow.. but may not be enough. Let's try get that home advantage back..

                    ..
McNeely is a moron, nevermind the hit from behind, plastering ONeill's head into the glass, he waited for Dee to leave the penalty bench, way away from the play and butt ended him in the face as Dee was just getting on the ice.

and which moron threw the water bottle on the ice from the NU bench at the beginning of Maine's powerplay after the first HFB major?

why do they call him crazyazz cronin, indeed!

that was Kraemer as he went into the box to serve the penalty. there must have been a water bottle in the box and he just knocked it out onto the ice.

                            Well.. that's more like it

We played disciplined tonight & Maine did not. We scored.. scored often, scored shorthanded, scored on the PP, scored 5x3.. sound familiar..

Tonight's gm was actually a mirror image of yesterday's & the teams switched roles.

I liked our effort & Rawlings bounced back strong. He had no chance on the 'auto goal' off of the NU defenseman (i think he was looking the other way). Besides this he only gave up one goal tonight.. a PP goal. Great effort after a tough gm last night.

Shemansky for ME is a terrific player. I think our freshmen weren't too shabby either..
