    Wouldn't that be great?

Our last legendary coach was Jim Fullerton, who coached Brown from 1955-1970. He coached 3 All-Americans and took us to the Final Four (hosted at Meehan), and was Div. 1 coach of the year in 1965.

I was lucky enough to watch Fully's last team my freshman year at Brown: the Bennett brothers, Cat McGinnis, Rich McLaughlin et al. The first home game I watched, we took Cornell (Ken Dryden in net) into overtime, an absolutely thrilling night. No wonder I became a lifelong Brown hockey fan.

I'd love for current or at least future Brown students to have a similar epiphany, courtesy of Brendan.

Our fans annoy me. They were loud once during Senior night and that was when Schaller tied up the game. It wasn't like UML blew us out either...

Ah well, good luck against RPI.

was 6 years old , but remember that game , barely........ But Dick Toomey was a great coach , had the likes of gilligan, mckintosh, bothwell , mccabe (in net) all were all americans , lived a block away .Bill gilligan Lived with us . great teams brown had back than (late 70s), student lines would start at 5.00 pm and people would even come in during the brown freshman games , back when freshman were not allowed to play until second year.those games started at 100... In fact during the gilligan, mckintosh , luckowich days the brown freshman were 22-0 ... and played the varsity in exhibition and lost by a goal, they were that good ... Mark holden also played net for the freshman.

Complete miscarriage of justice. I'm working on a post comparing the trio to Whittet, and the statistics are amazing in comparison in favor of Whittet. Positively horrible that he wasn't even NOMINATED.

Though from I've heard in interviewing and talking to people, he would've liked it but doesn't really care. There's only one trophy he wants (and that's not a cliche by any stretch).

This is based on ECAC results, Yale has five more wins in conference than Brown, I guess they had trouble nominating a Coach with a sub 500 conference record.

I am not sure why they even nominated anyone other than Pecknold, a sure runaway winner of the award.

Respect from hockey writers seems difficult to come by this year.

At the end of a long column about RPI resurgent, and an ECAC week wrap-up that noted Clarkson's lack of offense against Brown, we have (gasp!) this interesting news:

                      Weekly honors
                      As selected by the conference:

Player of the week — Kyle Flanagan, St. Lawrence...

Rookie of the week — Mark Naclerio, Brown: Naclerio had three points in two games against Clarkson as the Bears advanced to the quarterfinals for the first time since 2010. The freshman was 15-for-28 on faceoffs Friday and is sixth in the ECAC in faceoff percentage.

Goalie of the week — Anthony Borelli, Brown: After not appearing in a game his junior season, Borelli has made up for lost time quickly this year. The senior goalie posted his third shutout of the year Friday against Clarkson, and stopped 65 of 68 shots overall in the sweep of the Golden Knights. Borelli’s .945 save percentage is tied for second in the country.

So, our guys grabbed two out of the three weekly individual honors, but the team is still waiting for a little credit for the Cinderella second half of its season. O well. The better our motivation to sweep RPI!

So, what.... Is everyone holding their collective breath until this weekend's games?

Any updates re: injured or sick players?

Who from this group is going in person?

Let's make some noise! Go BROWN!

WATCH/LISTEN TO BROWN-RPI HOCKEY ON THE INTERNET

                            Video Stream

RPI/TV will be video streaming all Brown men's hockey games from Houston Field House this weekend. However, due to an agreement between ECAC Hockey and America One Sports, the playoff games will be available live only on http://www.americaonesports.com/upco...q=l&value=ncaa See the link under "Upcoming Events".

The price for receiving the video transmission has been set at $9.95 for each game.

Moments after the end of each live feed, the respective game will be available in its entirety on rpitv.org

                            Audio Stream

The brownbears.com website has not listed the ECAC Quarterfinals on its audio schedule. My guess is Mike Rubin is probably committed to do the Brown-Harvard lacrosse match at Stevenson Field on Saturday night.

However, the RPI audio netcast (on WRPI, 91.5 FM) of each of the games has been advertised on the RPI Hockey website and will be available on the internet. The audio transmissions will be available at no charge.

The URL for connection to each of the game audio netcasts is: http://www.rpiathletics.com/index.as...ey&path=hockey See the link under "Upcoming Events".

The game audio is better found at http://www.wrpi.org/listen and pick whichever stream is best suited for you (I usually pick 64). Air time is 10-15 minutes before puck drop, and the first intermission will typically include an interview with your coach.

The RPI audio is very good and the announcers know their stuff. With Mike unavailable, not a bad fall-back.
