No Bonino and reports are saying no Gryba - this could be a difficult stretch for us, might need a stellar performance from Millan and some bounces our way to take this one.
Seriously though, this is a battle of the two teams who probably lost the most to graduation and the NHL in HE, and both have probably their best forward out with an injury. It should be a good early season match up to test the teams' resiliency to these losses now that we are a weekend or two into the league schedule.
It'll be interesting to see how our forwards gel offensively after the bye week because before it they looked sloppy, bad passes and poor rotation in the offensive zone.

This is house is ours!!
Should be a true sellout and a great crowd as usual - I had this game circled on the calendar as soon as the schedule was released.
I think Rawlings will see some of the same speed he saw against our series with CC. More than his performance though.. i hope we can hold our own on the PP (unlike last yr where in a NU/BU gm, a Husky PP meant.. put your money on Terrier short handed goal..!?!)
I think the Lowell series BU just played will help them in this gm tremendously. I would have liked to have played someone else first right after bye week, then the Terriers.. but hopefully home advantage gets us over the top.
Records aside.. NU is playing the National Champs & if the players can't get excited for that... need i say more

I'm interested to see the new improvements at Matthews. How's the new concession stand?
not bad. they were pretty slow getting food out to people at the bentley game, but it was the first time they had the full operation up and running. the selection is decent and they have the plasma tv's on each side so you don't miss any action.

I think overall BU lost more but NU fans would like to forget that we lost the best defensive d-man, best defensive forward, and best goaltender. BU always has guys to step in and fill the shoes of guys that graduate or turn pro. A couple weeks ago I was dreading this matchup, because, well BU is BU, but without Bonino I have more hope. Im just mad I wont be able to make the game because Ill be at NYU

The food is better, and they did a good job fixing up the place. The lines are still long, and if its a sell out then they might run out of food as the game goes on.
The concession/s is a joke (until this improves.. it is what it is - first time or not, its the same folks running it for several years. c'mon get it right already!). Friday you get another chance
The experience of watching a gm at the arena..upper or lower balcony.. pretty fantastic - just not many arenas like this around. This hockey experience makes one forget the concession/ restroom lines.. though i do feel for the women & children especially.
One of these years.. NU better get the complete package together or they will lose the alumni & family crowd slowly but surely.. & with that additional $$$.
Oh, i highly recommend going there for the hockey
