For what... 3 or 4 years you've taken the same sign up here and waved it in fans faces without an issue? It's clever, I like it, but maybe you shouldn't have been waving it around after losing for the third year in a row... it seems like asking for trouble and surprise: you found it. Your sign got ripped up. I'm absolutely not condoning what happened to you, but I'm with birdie on this one man, suck it up. Make us suffer with a new better one next year?

On the other hand, I am obviously happy it wasn't a move severe incident, and share your worries about violence at a sporting event. It doesn't belong there (at least, outside the glass). At the same time, isolated incidents such as this are inevitable. So long as they remain minor and isolated, I don't see much that can be done.
I'm getting tired of this prevailing attitude from the UAF fans on here that I was "asking for it". I was carrying a sign, not waving it peoples faces, and wearing a jersey. Nothing inciteful in the slightest. This attitude you guys have is the equivalent of "you shouldn't have worn that dress. You were asking to be raped." I'll give you the fact that you aren't condoning it but, nobody has said "well your behavior is not much different from some UAF fans in Anchorage or a lot of visiting fans in other college arenas and those people aren't experiencing physical confrontations like this. This was wrong." No, all I get is "oh you were asking for it, don't be a wuss." and all it tells me is is that's the attitude up there, it's the other guys fault and we didn't do anything, and that is really worrying.

And no this not an isolated incident. This is actually the third such physical altercation I've had at the Carlson Center personally, plus numerous others that friends have had. This one is just the breaking point. The one that is finally getting me to report it and make sure it cannot be denied. And I'm going to actively encourage others to report future incidents so, when eventually someone either ends up in the hospital or a riot breaks out, UAF and the Carlson Center can't deny and say "it was an isolated incident".

Remember the players shake hands after the game, maybe the fans should try that. Personally I am too busy to play your games, bye bye.
You really are being a sissy. I'll ask you again: Are you condoning violent behavior at a sporting event?
