Maine and Duluth playing split-squad in the NCAAs?

    Hey, it could be fun.

Ignoring attendance issues sends the fans the wrong message. I'll most likely never travel to a regional again for that very reason. Putting UND and the Gophs at the X is a lock for a sell out.

no. it is always 1) fill a host in their bldg, then 2) apply the teams as required in the bands. though here it doesn't matter since you are placing two hea teams against 2 mn teams.

Denver made it in without a seed # too!
Bottom Line: If you deserve to win the national championship then don't worry about who you play, when, and where. Just keep winning.
Exception: You are right about the refs. They, no doubt, have it in for <insert your team name here>!

Seems to be a lot more possible scenarios than in years past. Pretty sure a lot of people nailed last year's bracket rather easily. This is gonna be an interesting selection show...

You fill in the application to host a Regional and you take your chances.

I just got in from the game (and trying to catch a cab...a Boston cab) so this may have already been posted:

                          Code:
Bridgeport	Worcester	St. Paul	Green Bay
Union Boston C	Michigan	No Dakota
                          	Ferris St	Duluth Minnesota	Miami
                          	Lowell Maine Boston U	Denver
Mich State	Air Force	Cornell W Mich
That's my first crack. If the committee values attendance more, switch Lowell and Maine.

Very well put, JD. So much depends on what piece of the puzzle the committee starts with. We can only guess at that, and then argue that "my guess is better than yours..."

                            The factors to me:
                            1) What does 'preserving bracket integrity really mean?" i.e. 1-x-9-16 or 8-9.
                            2) When they place the #1 band, do they go strictly by geography, or do they look ahead to the #2 band.
                            3) When they do the #2s, do they say, "OK, Minn to St Paul. they are off the table. Now, BC gets whoever is lowest left..." Or, is there another way.
                            4) When they place the #3s, is there a real difference between BU and Maine? If so, who goes east?

                            Other factors, too????

                              7). UMD vs 9). BU

                              ST Paul, MN
                              2). MI vs 13). Cornell
                              8). MN vs 10). Maine

                              Bridgeport, CT
                              3). Union vs 14). W. Michigan
6). Ferris State vs 11). DU

                              Green Bay, WI
4). UND vs. 15). Mich State
                              5). Miami vs 12). UM-Lowell
This is pretty much how I see it also. North Dakota and Michigan will bring similar attendance numbers to Green Bay, and St. Paul will be fine without North Dakota because Minnesota is in. I don't see the need to mess with the bracket integrity by moving Michigan and North Dakota.
                              University of North Dakota

                              National Championships: 8
                              Frozen Fours: 22
                              Conference Titles: 17
                              14 consecutive NCAA tournament appearances
