This becomes a big challenge for the coaching staff, and fortunately they've got two weeks of down time to work it out. Can they regroup the team from a huge on ice loss and emotional loss, and turn a negative into a positive. Can the team band together and play for themselves and prove they're among the best in the nation even without Trivino? Remains to be seen, but this is a huge test of the coaching staff and captain's ability to lead.

Note to BU fans... From wikipedia:
In architecture, a quadrangle (or colloquially, a quad) is a space or courtyard, usually rectangular (square or oblong) in plan, the sides of which are entirely or mainly occupied by parts of a large building. The word is probably most closely associated with college or university campus architecture
This is one of those things that college campuses typically have.

I'm of the opinion that if you make the decision to get drunk enough to put others at risk and do something like attempted rape, you should be responsible for the consequences of that action the same as though you had been sober.

      That's just me.

        +1.

I'm ready to move on from this topic, really. I was always taught that you need to take responsibility for your actions. Hopefully Trivino does that, suffers the consequences for his actions. Still plenty of time for him to turn his life around.

Let's hope this incident ends up being a blessing in disguise. I'm kind of pessimistic though..., I just personally feel like it's tough to come back from emotionally/mentally tough situations like these. We shall see. With the way the last two seasons have gone and now this, if we at least make NCAAs, I'll consider it a successful season.

No doubt. By all accounts, this is definitely not going to be an "addition by subtraction" situation. It does not sound as if he was disruptive at all to the team and was a good and liked teammate etc etc. However, this opening will give someone the opportunity to step up in a big way.... I'm looking forward to seeing who that person is.

Nothing really that new, but he elaborates more. Very, very unusual for him to be this open about a situation like this.
That has been my view with Parker's handling of this. He is acting way out of character in his dealing with the media on this, which makes it seem to me that something is not adding up although I have no idea what that might be......

In similar incidents coaches seem to say as little as possible along the lines of a player has been removed from the team for unspecified reasons allowing the public to put two and two togethe from other media reports.

I would think a coach with Parker's resume would take some pride in trying to take a very talented but troubled kid and go the extra mile to set him on the right path. Those efforts having been unsuccessful, if we've learned anything in the last few months it's that anything less than full disclosure may not be the prudent thing to do, from a PR, recruiting, and from a legal standpoint as well.

You are assuming that Parker cares about any of his players beyond what they can do for him on the ice.

That is an incredibly ignorant statement.

Perhaps you should read the Travis Roy book "Eleven Seconds." That might give you an idea if "Parker cares about any of his players beyond what they can do for him on the ice."

Beyond that, just consider how many former players attend games, flock to hockey alumni events and maintain a solid relationship with Parker, often decades after they have graduated.
If he didn't care, and didn't still care after they've gone, they wouldn't care so much.

Well, I'm an "outsider" in the sense that I only go to the games and I'm a graduate. I'm not privy to any "special" information, nor do I have access to the team. But my GUESS is that there is a LOT of stuff that doesn't get out, as would be the case in virtually any locker room. In this case, however, given the ramifications of the recent events at Syracuse and Penn State, I'm thinking that Parker HAD to go public with this, because as we all know, the media will spin it and if you don't get it out there first, it will appear as though you are "backpedaling." So just to cover himself he had to be proactive. These days, silence is almost an implicit admission of guilt...

Just because he doesn't come across as "warm and fuzzy" doesn't mean that he doesn't care about his players. I think history has clearly demonstrated that he goes above and beyond when it comes to the well-being of any of his former "family" members (because that's what the players are to him).

Agreed...but the question was whether it was "premeditated." Based on the facts as we know them, that does not seem to be the case. No one is saying that he should not be responsible for the conseqences, but the discussion was regarding the opinion that often times "good" people can get drunk, but "good" people don't rape someone. And, unless I'm missing someone, groping and kissing is not rape. As was previously mentioned, the charges will most likely be reduced.
