    While fans can't judge too much based upon the opponent, they did what they were supposed to do. When was the last time fans could say that on a positive note?

      Patterson while not tested much, did make some really nice saves this weekend as well.

          Agreed. He was hustling all over the ice the whole weekend no matter the score and created some great chances.

            We haven't seen blowouts like these to start a season since '02, and I don't believe any Gopher team over the past 3-4 seasons would have dismantled even a bad team in this fashion, so yes, I'd say this is a good sign.

            Thankfully, a real stiff test comes next weekend, so we'll have a far better idea of what this team can do.

              I know, it's nitpicking to criticize when your team wins 6-0, but there were about a half-dozen very ugly moments tonight that surely would have cost them against a better team. No doubt the coaching staff will go over them carefully as they prepare to play the defending National Champs.
