If I am right I think most student athletes dont mind missing class for hockey.
Most players go to school for hockey not school.
There are NCAA regulations on the amount of class time that can be missed in a semester. And players don't really enjoy two day bus trips.

The "best" thing about all these realignment rumors, is that not one of them has a single piece of credible evidence to back it up.

The main reason that there's nothing concrete to go on is that there really isn't a whole lot of "credible evidence" until you see an actual announcement: "Notre Dame leaves CCHA", "WCHA lifts moratorium on expansion", that sort of thing.
At this stage, it's all backroom, "off the record" discussions that are either (a) almost never reported, (b) when they are reported, they are done with "anonymous sources", or (c) the more rare example where you actually get an AD caught flapping his gums (see: Alvarez, Barry).
Any sort of disbelief over the lack of real, hard evidence in this thread is like having a sense of disbelief over the diet of an anteater.

At his graduation ceremony from the U of Minnesota, my cousin got a keychain. When asked what UW gave her for graduation, my sister said, "A degree from a University that matters."
It also created by people who dont want to admitt that college hockey system is f-up and that some schools are going to lose there welfare check.
Funny, but your not afraid to cash the Gophers share of those BCS bowl checks, like the $13 million + Ohio State brought home while getting those small potatoes bowl appearances in the Insight and Music City Bowls. When was the last time the Gophers cashed a big bowl check for the Big Ten? Oh yeah, 1962. Enjoy YOUR welfare checks. Minnesota contributed $0 to the Big Ten bowl pool this year. They took home about $3.5 million after expenses for the schools were deducted from the payouts. In fact both Wisconsin and Ohio State contributed more this year than Minnesota has in it total history. Welfare checks? Please...you cash 'em every year!

The welfare checks are obviously not helping the football team when you get beat by South Dakota...at home.
Having a clear conscience just means you have a bad memory or you had a boring weekend.
I agree with you. If we didnt get that money we would still have a football team though.
You'd think so wouldn't you...what if Minnesota never got to host Wisconsin, Michigan, Iowa, Ohio State again? You certainly wouldn't have TCF Bank Stadium.

None of the hockey teams are talking about folding their hockey teams...yet either...just a bunch of fans being worried about the state of things. We are worried with good reason.
